Went there for two nights with high expectations because of the reviews and the price - and they were even surpassed! Huge balcony with BBQ, table for four, two Lounge chairs and a hammock! Huge open area with Kitchen, couch and another huge table to dine in. If you can afford it, definetly a place to go.

We stayed at the Beach Shacks for 2 nights with our Aussie friends before and after taking the day trip out to Lady Musgrave Island. Our bedroom was lovely and we liked having the windows wide open to enjoy the breeze and hear the birds. The lounge and dining area was spacious allowing the four of us to kick back,... More

This was our first ever overnight experience in Australia; a 3 night stay in the top of the 4 beach shacks appropriately named the Tree House. We wanted to be close enough to cross to the Great Barrier Reef and 1770 seemed the ideal location. We chose the 1770 Beach Shacks as it promised to be a very different experience... More

We arrived cold and wet from a day on our motorbike and we were greeted with a warm smile and helpfulness. The hosts were great and very accomodating we loved our stay - only wish we didnt have to leave the next day :-( Also, the restaruant downstairs at the pub was great, not super cheap, but not outrageous and... Highly recommended - worth the long 6-7 hours drive from Brisbane for us. My wife and I stayed 3 nights in the first 'shack' from the beach - awesome views, safe swimming beach (at high tide) only few meters from the room, spacious layout and an interesting design to boot. Beats a boring motel stay anytime. Very reasonable pricing for... More

We stayed here for the second time, in the smaller 'Tree House' room this time. As a place for two it was well sized and has a nice verandah and all the quality of fittings of the larger room. For the location, with a great view across the bay from room and verandah, and adjacent to a nice restaurant and... More

I stayed here three years ago with my now fiancée. It was, in my opinion, the best holiday I have ever had. The accomodation is incredible! Beautiful rooms and an amazing balcony, with spectacular views. The staff (a Swedish girl and Aussie guy at the time) went above and beyond in their service. Due to flooding, rains and luggage lost,... More

1770 is well off the beaten track; it took us about 5 hours to drive from Noosa - but it's well worth the trip. The shacks are well appointed with 2 bedrooms and a veranda with a hammock. You really feel you've escaped when you are here. Waking up to a view of the ocean from your bedroom is something else. Very interesting design of the shack with a large open area. Perfect to enjoy the sticky Queensland heat. I'd stay at least 4 nights as there is lots to do in 1770/ Agnes. I would recommend it... More
