not fancy, but clean and reasonably priced. That said: Wow-- they may have had a "no smoking" sign posted, but the reception area reeked of cigarettes. Our room had also pretty clearly been smoked in within the last few days.

This is not your regular chain hotel. It is much smaller, and more rustic. Once inside the room, things got better. Some renovations have been carried out but as the owner mentioned, it is a work in progress. Not too many other options anyway in this neck of the woods. Breakfast was good with large muffins, pastries, cereal, juice, etc.... More

Reserved the room for my family of 4 and asked my in-laws about the place as they had stayed there more recently. I was game to go when my mother-in-law approved and I got to experience why... We needed a pet friendly room as we have a small dog, some people's outlook is you get the crappier of rooms because... More

We stayed here a couple of nights with our two children when there was no room left at our other motel. The owner and staff were so welcoming, and helpful: even offering us a larger room the next day if we needed. Yes the rooms are rustic, but they supply you with clean towls daily, very little noise from the... More

We stayed at this motel for one night on a recent trip. The rooms were small and rustic, but it was clean and the owner very welcoming. It had appeared there had been recent updates - new carpet and new flooring in the bathroom and fresh paint. It was fine for an overnight stay...my only complaint was that although there... More

I stayed here overnight on my way north to Fundy National Park. The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast was very good. My room had an interesting design but was very small. So although it was fine for my purposes, I would not have wanted to spend more than one night. I do... More

I didn't find this place very clean. The water is absolutely gross and comes out yellow, so bring bottled water for sure. Under the beds had huge amounts of dust. The taps were absolutely gross with scum and I had to buy cleaner and scour them before we would use the sink. The floors needed a good scrubbing. The air conditioner... More

I highly recommend staying at this motel. After nobody coming to help us at a near by campground. We decided to find a motel. We were so glad we found this place. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. He even let us use the barbecue they had for the cabin. Since we had already purchased food for the night.... More

I've stayed at the Scoodic many times as I travel between Boston and Nova Scotia. Jim, the owner, is always friendly and welcoming. The property is very clean, and the rooms are spotless. This is not the Ritz, but it's an excellent spot for an overnight stay at a very reasonable price. Bed is comfortable. There's even a welcoming cat,... More
