My husband and I stayed at the Cabot Trail Motel in Baddeck. We were the first guests to stay. They weren't quite ready but they went out of their way to welcome us and made our stay so pleasant. Because we were the first guests, we saw first hand how much they clean and care about their motel and their... More

My husband and I enjoy a wonderful little hotel package offer at the Cabot Trail Motel in Baddeck, NS. The package included a lovely dinner buffet,, entertainment, a night stay and breakfast buffet the following morning. The hospitality offered was second to none. The motel is older but they are making significant improvements. I hear from the new manager that... More

Set across the road from Lake D'Or, this 50's motel offers a swimming pool, restaurant and all rooms with a lake view. I suspect there is a wide range of rooms offered. Ours was done in pink, it was clean. You have to be lucky with your neighbors because the walls are pretty thin. Some rooms were free-standing cottages which... More

We stayed here one night on our way through the Cabot Trail - it was originally for two nights but after I saw the place decided one night was enough. Rooms are very dark & dank - room was clean, beds were old, a/c did not work - laundry facilities were in an old shed - machines were old and... More

You can sleep there if you have no choice but the room was old and smelly. Some rust was on the furniture. Some wet spots on the sealing. It had windows on both sides so you could get some ventilation. Blankets are old and not appealing, room design is the most ugly I ever saw. Staff is friendly , breakfast is not... More

We were two senior couples travelling together. We made reservations in advance based on the information we learned on-line. Nothing was as we expected. Rooms were reasonably clean and quiet. Staff were friendly. Although there is a restaurent onsite, breakfast was not included. Carpeting is very tired and the decorating very sparse. Photo's must have been taken long ago. We... More

This is a roadside motel - it's cheap, clean and comfortable, but nothing overly fancy. My father and I stayed here with our bulldog. It's fairly close to Baddeck and it's attractions, and it's easy to find. The room was clean, if a bit dated, and the knob on the air conditioner was broken, but still worked with some tweaking.... We stayed in a small chateau at the Cabot Trail Motel. It had two rooms with beds in each, so there was some privacy. Full kitchen but very small, but we didn't need anything more. Owner was so pleasant and made our stay even better. She upgraded us to this chateau for no extra charge because she thought we'd prefer... More
