Laurie's Inn remains the best place to stay in Cheticamp. It's sure not fancy or glamorous but it is the sincer friendliness of the staff that makes it stand out. Breakfast buffet is very complete and very yummy even if some things are a bit hidden from obvious view. Lunch and dinner entrees are good but not outstanding - good,... More

Spent 2 nights at Laurie's as part of a tour group in October 2012. Rooms were clean if a bit dated. Had to go to the lobby to get WiFi, even though our room was not far from the lobby. I guess you could say that makes people socialize more. There were 2 fast computers available in the lobby. The... More

My husband & I stayed here end of May 2012 on bus tour of the Canadian Maritimes. This is not a 4 star property by any stretch of the imagination. What is it? Acadian Pride at it's best! The locals really show the tourists what a rich heritage that they have. We had 2 nights of entertainment from local muscians,... More

Cheticamp is a tiny fishing village - it is bit unfair for people to expect a fabulous resort. The Motor Inn is a classic motel. It is neat and clean, the rooms have hardwood (or it looks like it) floors, simple furnishings and clean, clean clean. Isn't that what counts in a small village? The staff is very friendly and... Nothing spectacular but was sufficient. Our room was large but seemed quite old. It was great to have laundry facilities available so that was certainly a bonus! We were there the same night as a bus tour so the place was quite full causing us to have a room with 2 (small) double beds. They weren't comfy and the sheets... More

Have to believe you can do much better and for a better price. Didn't check though; reservations were made by other. Older house renovated to poor specs. The too few electrical outlets were in odd locations. No bedside lamps to read by as an example. Clothes dryer timer didn't work so had to stand by and watch. Not what I... More

We booked an upstairs Harbor View NSK #123 with ocean view. Our room was basic, old, but clean. I suspect the room had been refurbished and had spotless blankets. The ocean view was limited if we sat on plastic chairs on the front balcony. No refirgerator or microwave in room, but a spotless laundry was on premises. Narrow parking places... More

Not a lot of choices in this berg, but Laurie's will do quite fine. Clean, with on site restaurant and laundry facilities. Each building of 3 has it's separate wifi system and reception if good. Rooms a bit dated, but again, the alternatives are limited. Fairly large rooms. Staff very accomodating and friendly. Perhaps not the place you might want... More

We were very disappointed with Laurie's. The room is very old and dated. Beds incredibly uncomfortable. No shower head in the bathroom. The bed gave me the heebee jeebees to sleep in it. There were a lot of other places nearby that looked much more inviting. For the price it was a dump.

very pricey for what we got. Over $200 with aaa/caa discount. Main office is musty smelling. Room ("Suite") was spacious but dated. Side of one of the mattresses was stained and not pleasant to see. Room was fairly clean though. Breakfast which was included was nice. Friendly staff, good food, hot and cold buffet.
