Spent two nights here as part of a Globus/Monograms tour. We were very happy with our accomodations in Chichen Itza, which is owned by the same family, but the staff at Uxmal made the visit totally delightful. Both properties offer the calming sound of birdsong day and night. Everything in the restaurant here was wonderfully fresh. We learned that they... More

Splendid hotel with great restaurant. The manager, Bustilleros, told us the American people are not coming because they are afraid. To tell the truth, we traveled 1600 milers and walked the city streets at night and never had anything but a great time. This was in the middle of January, 2012. Yes, Bustilleros, the Yucatan is safer than many US... More

Thank you for sharing your experiences while with us, and particularly with your mentioning how safe your 1,600 miles of traveling in the Yucatan were. Yes, Yucatan is safer than Sweden, the Swiss country and most of the civilized world. Yet the media has really hurt us be not pointing out that the problem areas of Mexico have nothing to... More

We stayed two nights at the Lodge as part a a private tour booked through Mayaland/greyline. Our guide, Victor Gonzales, who drove us there from CanCun via Chichen Itza and Merida, grew up a a village a few miles from Uxmal. He is a Mayan who studied in the States and is incredibly knowledgeable about the site and Mayan culture.... More

We are delihghted to read your review and learn of the good times you had amongst us ! Thank you very much for taking the time to share your good experiences in Uxmal. This fall our "Old Hacienda" (1673), a 12 minute walk from the Lodge, will be the scene of new theatrical presentation of "Life at the Hacienda Uxmal... More

The Lodge offered us a beautiful big room with a large bathroom. The outside door had a fantastic "Maya" carving in the shape of a warrior. All the wooden furniture was of high quality. The room (first floor) was almost completely round. It was located in a small building with 3 rooms on the first floor and 3 on the... More

A stone throw away from the magical site of Uxmal, this is definitely the place to stay. The rooms are spacious clean and very well designed. The staff is friendly and corteous. The food is well prepared. A swim in the pool after exploring the site is great. Would definitely suggest top floor rooms. Use the hotel as a base... More

I was lucky enough to spend one night at the Lodge at Uxmal on my way to Merida. I hadn't seen the archaeological site since the 70's and decided it was time. My guide to the ruins was exceptional and in my opinion Uxmal is even more astounding than Chichen Itza. The pyramid of the Magician is second to none.... More

Like the previous reviewers we were allegedly upgraded, but in truth we were a small tour party of 6 and the Hacienda had a number of large bus parties staying over for a couple of nights and required the rooms. The room was basic but large with an very nice bathroom. The Beds in the rooms have mosquito nets. It... More

Dear j4ambos: I am glad to learn that you stayed at our hotel, The Lodge at Uxmal. It is indeed quite different from the Hotel Hacienda Uxmal, and even when both of them feature different ambiances, the quality of service provided is outstanding in both. What you described is real (amenities, facilities, stunning view, beauty and tranquility of the site),... More

I was due to stay at the hacienda but due to low numbers they are taking the opportunity to do some much needed sprucing. The lodge is an upgrade however the ambience of the hacienda ( I went for a look) is second to none. Did not detract from the stay at all and the lodge is that but closer... More

I had originally booked to stay at Hacienda Uxmal but as it was the off season they upgraded us to The Lodge. We were so glad they did! The Lodge is literally opposite the park entrance and when we entered the park at 8am we had the ruins to ourselves. We went with Jorge, the guide from The Lodge which... More

We loved this hotel. The rooms are fairly basic, but have all the necessaries and the bathrooms are huge. You couldn't ask for a better location for visiting Uxmal. It's only about 2 minutes walk away. The pool was nice, although filled with bugs. I suspect it's really hard to keep a pool bug free in the middle of the... More
