On the positive side the staff were excellent and the grounds are absolutely superb. The reception area and dining room are also up to standard. Hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff are helpful, polite and very nice. Room was rather pokey and for £70 with breakfast i thought it was rather expensive. Stayed here with work. Evening meal was edible in parts, beef was rubbish. Breakfast took so long I only had cereal. Good job I am on a diet. If you need to go up there for work, try something else. Had a room next to a main road so not much sleep

dropped in to the ennerdale at cleator for sunday lunch and for £10.00 for 3 courses and it was nice not many in but it was 12 oclock when we where booked in but i will be going back clean and tidy very good value
