Camped here with the specific intent of hiking Scafell Pike from the Eskdale Valley, which we did. We were only there one night and would agree that it was pricey for just one night/two people, but hey...that's Bank Holiday "peak" season for ya! Good facilities - no complaints at all.

very good campsite if a little pricey (£82 for 2 people in a tent tent for 3 nights). Very clean showers and toilets and lots of hot water which is great. Great location for the pubs which are all top class we spent the whole evening in the Woolpack which does amazing food and very generous portions. One point the... More

We stayed for three nights, some pods have platforms to sleep on and electric sockets inside - these don't. The Eco pods are ok for a small family but for two they are expensive. Exec double room and breakfast up the road only £40 per night!! Which would you choose?

The site toilets/showers and grass were immaculate as was the surrounding area. The only thing that let the Pods down was the lack of electricity. Even though we stayed for 2 nights at the end of April , it was really cold at night. You really cannot risk having a gas heater on all night but saying that the gas... More

Our favourite campsite. Never disappoints. The facilities are superb, kept spotlessly clean and the whole site is always very neat and tidy. Resident wardens and assistants friendly and helpful. Small well stocked shop on site. Brook House Inn and recently refurbished Boot Inn (both 200m) have good food and well kept beer. Stunning low level riverside walks in the valley... More

Stayed for three nights at Easter in a pod , loads of room for the two of us plus one excitable puppy, dropped very cold at night outside but we were toastie due to the heater supplied, the site has excellent clean facilities and great warm showers, as for location it can't be beaten if you like walking the hills... We love this site! Ended up here by accident due to another site being flooded and hired a pod for a night before setting up camp. Beautiful setting, friendly staff and brilliant facilities. Lovely child and dog friendly pub with beer garden and food about 5 mins walk through the woods away, perfect!!

Three nights over New Year and really enjoyed the site with four good pubs a pleasant walk, all with great beer and food. Super position with a weeks worth of hill walks from the site. Very pleasant and helpful site wardens.

Just back from 3 nights at Eksdale Camping and Caravanning site near Boot. Family of six plus two dogs. We rented the Camping Barn and had a great time. We really lucked out with the weather and although the temperature dipped at night, we were snug and warm in the upstairs of the barn's open sleeping area. Downstairs has a... More
