We stayed for two nights from 17/05/13. I wanted a base so we could fit in Whinlatter and Grizdale Mtb trails, which we did. The Boot inn was just perfect, from the greeting to the food and talk about a good nights sleep we had room 4 which overlooked the conservatory. We ate in there both nights as too tired... More

Just spent two nights at the wonderful boot inn, the bar and conservatory are really lovely since the refit, bedrooms a little tired but in saying that, really clean with soft beds and crisp white sheets and fluffy towels! The staff are all very friendly and happy to help. We will definatly be coming back, especially for the fabulous breakfasts.

I spent a long weekend at the Boot Inn on a Wowcher deal. The Inn is wonderful, the guys that work there are all brilliant and so very willing to help you out and nothing is too much trouble. The food was amazing- being a vegetarian the selection was pretty good-and the portion sizes ( which were the "small "portion )... More

Just spent the weekend in the Boot Inn, 4 of us on a wowcher deal expected a lot less value than we got. The rooms were clean as was the full inn, the food was really good and a great selection of beers. The best thing for me though was the staff, everyone we spoke to or requested something from... We stayed at the Boot Inn over the Easter weekend and had a lovely time. The rooms have been refurbished as mentioned by several other reviewers, and ours was extremely clean and warm and cosy, there was everything you need nice comfortable bed, nice ensuite bathroom. It is a beautiful place with gorgeous views. The staff are extremely welcoming. And... More

Just returned from a weekend at The Boot Inn and had a wonderful weekend. Have previously visited 2 years ago. The Inn has now been refurbished downstairs and the transformation is excellent, the décor is great. The open fire was always lit and it was most enjoyable to sit beside the fire with a drink. The staff were very helpful... More

Just had a weekend away at the Boot Inn and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We visited Boot last year for the beer festival and went to the pub then but felt it was a bit jaded and lacked a comforting atmosphere. Got a voucher deal to go there and expected basic accommodation and food. However, we were very pleasantly surprised... More

Before being taken over and refurbished by the Pennington Group, the Boot Inn had its faults - it was tired, even grubby, sometimes ropey ales (but then it was/is a Robinsons pub, so what do you expect??), but it was always a proper traditional walkers pub. Reasonable prices, hearty food for those who had been out on the fells all... More
