We had a great two night stay thanks to Groupon. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back again and pay full price!! The staff were great - friendly, helpful, polite. The evening meal was delicious and beautifully presented. Breakfast was huge with a wide variety of things to eat and drink. The Dolly Blue Bar offered good food... More

My wife booked a surprise Valentine's break for us at the Whitewater - and she could not have made a better choice! We had a superior room overlooking the river which was spacious and beautifully appointed, but most importantly quiet, which is a priority for me. There was limited choice on the special table d'hote menu but what it lacked... More

Location A++++ Shame it snowed. Great for the pictures. Staff very friendly & helpful. Down points, very cold hotel had to change rooms due to problems with the heating, upgrade didn't feel like an upgrade, dated room & decor. Then the lights went off so again problems. Sorted after 30 mins by again helpful staff. Food was very nice, but... More

Many thanks for your review posted following your recent stay with us. It has been noted elsewhere on here that we are currently replacing our boilers which has led to certain amounts of inconvenience, we expect this work to be concluded shortly. Paul again has received great praise, so thank you for that, and yes, our staffing levels were slightly... More

As this review deteriorates into what is basically a personal attack I have taken advice from my superiors who consider that it is verging on slander. I always thought the idea of Trip Advisor was to post a review following a stay, having noted that this had been posted halfway during the stay made null and void any attempt at... More

A perfect treat for my wife from Groupon. We would never have considered this hotel original price above our normal budget. We had upgraded to River view Room, this was large and had all facilities.Food excellent Staff very friendly especially Paul in the Dolly Blue Bar.Pool Spa and Gym excellent. On a less positive note Room was a little cool and... More

Booked through Groupon & paid extra £90 for Sat night & 4 poster room. Included dinner on first night. Paid £249 for 2 nights, which is roughly half price. Great situation & building. Welcome less so. Very distant & blah receptionist who gave us no info, other than where lift was. Given 3 keys on ring, with no explanation as... More

I am shocked that the last reviewer was so negative about this lovely hotel. We stayed for two nights with a Groupon deal, our first, and the hotel was charming, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had a 'standard' room but it was huge with a king size bed as well as a single bed. The one downside I felt personally... More

This is an OK hotel. Some really nice features, such as the traditional slate/stone used in the architechture and retention of some of the old mill equipment; and some obviously mass (econmically I would imagine) purchased furnishings and features, eg a lot of quite cheap looking leather furniture, poor paintings and plastic flowers. Quite a bit of the furnishings, in... More

Thank you for your review following your stay with us. We were disappointed to read of the negative aspects you outline. Regarding our star status we have been awarded 4* by the AA and we were inspected twice last year following some refurbishments and they commented particularly on the standard of our public areas. We are on a constant programme... More
