Official Description (provided by the hotel):: Sue and Simon welcome you to Meadowcroft Bed & Breakfast, a short walk away from the bustling ancient market square of Thirsk in North Yorkshire, with a range of independent shops,cafes,bars,Racecourse and of course The World of James Herriot. Built in 1937, Meadowcroft is a large, comfortable family home retaining many of its original features. Meadowcroft is set in over half an acre of well stocked mature gardens and we have ample off street parking on our spacious driveway. Breakfast consists of locally sourced (and our own home made)produce, we cater for special diets including gluten free.We have free Wi-Fi for our customers - all of our rooms have en-suite or private bathroom facilities.Thirsk is ideally situated for visits to The Yorkshire Dales and Moors, we are also very close to the TDF2014 route, with 'Le Grand Depart' in 2014,Leeds approx 35 mins by car. ... more less

It doesn't surprise me that Meadowcroft is rated No.1 in Thirsk. It is a very pleasant and comfortable place to stay with welcoming and helpful hosts. Superb Bed and Breakfast, lovely room, huge bed and gorgeous bedding. The breakfast was first class, as were our hosts Sue and Simon. Thanks for the homemade biscuits the lavender ones were delicious.

We spent 2 very comfortable nights at Meadowcroft whilst visiting family in Thirsk. Sue and Simon were very welcoming and genuinely friendly without ever being overly fussy.
