Aurum Lodge is the most beautiful Eco lodge I have stayed at. The owners are lovely and hospitable people and my only regret was that I was there for business and I could not bring my family and explore more!

I spent the weekend here with several other photographers. we spent our days catching great photos of the ice and scenery on Abraham Lake, and our evenings relaxing at the lodge. Alan and Madeleine were perfect hosts, as they adjusted their routine around our needs (e.g. to get up early to shoot sunrise shots) and made us feel comfortable. it's... More

We spent a night at Aurum on our way back from Banff...did not want to rush the trip home to Northern Alberta. Madeleine and Alan were wonderfully hospitable and helpful and we had a great stay - too bad we had to rush away in the morning. Our room was super, functional and ultra-clean, with an enclosed porch-like room overlooking... More

We spent two nights at this wonderful getaway as a surprise from my girlfriend. The lodge itself is simply stunning and set in the most tranquil and perfect setting I could have imagined. Alan and Madeleine were fabulous hosts with great food, good wine and excellent company (thank you for the toast Alan.!!). The rooms were cosy, clean and had... More

A very warm and welcoming lodge, far from the crowds. The rooms are spacious, the food is good and the dog is very friendly:) This is a very good location to explore lesser known parts of the Rockies and it's very quiet as it's far from everything. Highly recommended if you're pooking for tranquility and remotness .

We stayed 3 nights in a self-contained apartement end of July 2012. The place is simply fantastic, extremely clean and functional, it worked out perfectly for us. The area is really scenic and it is close to the National Park. The hosts are very nice and incredibly helpful, providing excellent tips on what to visit in the area. Also remarkable... More

Alan and Madeleine are expert hosts who go above the call of duty to pamper their guests, and make you feel at home. The lodge and rooms are immaculately clean and spotless. The home- made style meals are healthy, tasteful, and nothing short of delicious. I stayed at the lodge for four nights, as a base of operations for the... More

Whilst the room rates at first seem a bit pricey, it all pays off once you arrive. We chose to include breakfast and dinner and have to admit that this place here was the best to stay at during our whole trip through the Canadian Rockies. The hospitality of Alan and Madeleine (and their great dog) has been fantastic and... More

Having stayed here on 5 separate occasions & at different times of the year, I'm delighted to recommend this lodge set in a quiet corner of the Canadian Rockies. On the shores of Abraham Lake, a man-made reservoir, & adjacent to the David Thompson Highway, an 'Ecological Reserve' it's within reach of both Banff/Lake Louis, The Icefields Parkway & Jasper... We stayed six nights in this lodge and enjoyed the charm of this secluded location: silence, nature, terrific view - and a bear at the highway each day. The house is being built according eco standards and tries to minimize the impact onto the environment. However, this does not mean to give in because of comfort. The hosts originate from Switzerland... More
