Stayed here during the Easter break, been a few times before. Always go home feeling refreshed and relaxed. Great food, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Couldn't ask for more. See you in June!

Stayed here in January this year to celebrate our (not wedding) anniversary. Lovely large room overlooking the green with a very comfy bed and lovely quaint bathroom with delightful toiletries. My partner had asked Bonnie, the proprietor, to arrange a bunch of flowers for me in our room upon arrival, which she did and they were beautiful. We stayed for... More

The George is a beautiful restaurant with lovely rooms upstairs. We stayed in room 1 which was well decorated and the bed really comfortable - loads of extra touches, lovely shampoo and condition, really nice organic tea etc. old building which has all the original features with old beams and low ceilings. we arrived late at night to really warm... We stayed in the George for a Satirday night. We booked a deal on line £130 for 3course meal, bed & breakfast! Firstly the dinner... Wow! Beautifully presented and delicious meal! The rooms are clean, modern (shabby chic) & cosy! Breakie again delicious! No grumbles about the place what so ever!

We stayed last minute due to business in Bury St Edmunds , booked online and received a very good rate. Great welcome and evening meal - breakfast was excellent. Despite being quite a distance from Bury we will use it again rather than stay in the more impersonal and generally more expensive hotels in St Edmunds. Very nice staff.

We stopped here for dinner having had a good recommendation. The village of Cavendish is quite charming and quaint essentially English. I had scallops followed by Guinea Fowl and rounding off with chocolate brownie and my husband had pigeon breast then Halibut & seafood linguine. WOW. Not one single complaint from either of us. All the food was cooked to... More

We have been eating here regularly over the last two years and the standard of food and service has always been outstanding. Highly recommend to everyone. There is such a good choice of food which is all from local suppliers.

Our two night DBB break at the George was superb. Friendly helpful staff, good service, most comfortable room (1) and excellent food. Breakfasts were fresh cooked and served at the right pace and the evening menu presented delicious alternatives. The oxtail starter was to die for! Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer due to another commitment but will... More
