My parents and I found ourselves in Ticehurst today, my parents' old stomping ground! It was decided we would have lunch in a pub they remembered from their youth! The inn had changed internally since my parents' last visit, but it still has the feel of a tradtional English pub. We received a genuinely warm welcome from the family that... More

We walked the circumference of Bewle Bridge Resevoir (13 miles) and a beer was beckoning by the end. Indeed, the beer was beckoning from The Bull, and what a gem of a pub The Bull is. Warm day, so we sat in the large garden by the pond. Harveys (of course) but a Dark Star beer (as light and hoppy... More

Every year I book the Bull for a meal of about 30 people - inc several vegetarians, and someone who has to have a gluten free diet. The last two years, under excellent management, have been extremely good experiences. Many of the attendees are from abroad and love the ambiance of an old English pub. The service is friendly and... We visited The Bull on a freezing March weekend, with snow on the ground outside but the warmth of this pub, with its huge log fire, cosy bedrooms and very friendly staff soon made us forget our icy extremities. The food is great - a choice of just what you want, somehow - it arrives promptly and the service is... More

We love visiting this part of the world and one of the reasons are pubs like this one. A small reminder of what is great about Britain. Hard working honest people running an excellent business in the heart of our beautiful countryside :)

I don't like The Bull Inn at Ticehurst. I love it. 18 pubs close every day in the UK but if they were run like this one then that wouldn't be the case. Unfortunately for the likes of Wetherspoons and O'Neill's this isn't a marketing formula that you can replicate across the country. This is proper, honest, grafting innkeeping and... More

What a magnificent place to relax. A couple of friends and I turned up on a Sunday night and spent the next 2 days blissfully unaware of the real world. Open fires, Fabulous food. And a fine selection of beer and wine. The service is outstanding, Arnie and Mandy keep a very tight ship and are always on hand should... More

We agree with the majority of the views given recently. We went to the Bull for supper last night. Started with an excellent crisp bacon and melted brie salad followed by a freshly made steak and kidney pie - really top drawer! The flavour was superb with plenty of kidney. We have always liked the Bull but it has improved... More

Went to view the fireworks with my partner and her family really enjoyed the night. The food was excellent and what you see on the menu is what you get and it's good value for money. The pub has a nice warm feeling low ceilings, nice fire to keep warm and a nice bedrooms to stay if needed. I would... More
