We normally tend to stay in larger hotels, but this place had been recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. We faced onto the road in front, but the village is not busy and there was very little noise from outside. Breakfast was very good, and the evening meal... More

We are regular visitors to the Fountain Inn having discovered it by accident a few years ago. It is centrally located in the Forst so you can access great walks directly from the doorstep. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating and dogs are not only welcome but encouraged, Food is good value and hearty and the ales are very... More

We recently visited the Forest of Dean with our two dogs, a springer spaniel and a collie puppy. From the moment we stepped in the door, the welcome was warm and friendly. We ordered our drinks and food and had hardly sat down when one of the staff appeared with bonios for the dogs! The food was so good that... More

Found this pub on a yell.com search and we went as it had good reviews for all the family and cycling. It is within 5 mins of beechenhurst lodge and excellent food. Really friendly and accommodating with a 6 yr old and 8 month old baby. They provided kids cutlery and high chair. The only thing I couldn't find was... More

We went to visit some friends who were staying at the nearby campsite. We don't camp so decided to stay in B&B. Our friends recommended The Fountain, as they have stayed at this campsite and frequented the pub for many years. We are so glad they did. We arrived in the monsoon conditions but were greeted by such warm and... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to the Fountain, we're glad you had a good time here. My husband has recently reorganised some of the, more historical, artifacts we have on display and written short references about their connection to the village - so if you do return, there's even more to look at now! Used this place as a meeting point before heading to Whitemead campsite to pitch our tents. Found the place to be warm and friendly and happyly not pretending to be something it isn't.
