I booked the Seahaven House B&B at the last minute, as I decided to pop over to the IoW on the spur of the moment. It was August, so I didn't have much choice within my budget, but after staying for two back breaking nights, I should have paid more money and stayed somewhere else. My room was a tiny... More

The young couple running this B & B are making a great effort to bring an old Victorian property up to date. The dining room is light and recently decorated in my sort of colour scheme (eggshell blue emulsion with chocolate contrast wallpaper);breakfasts were as large or small as guests wished with a selection of fresh fruit, yoghurts and cereals plus fruit... A little tatty on the outside, but efforts to update made on the inside. Breakfast room was bright and food was lovely, with good service. Not sure who ran the place as no one around on either arrival or departure. Room was clean with some nice decorative touches. Bathroom needs work, shower's wall attachment was broken so had to hand... More

It was absolutely filthy, it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. Floor, ceilings, windows, curtains, lampshade, teapot, chairs, shower, bathroom, everything was just filthy. I had a four year old child with me and the dirt was a threat to her health. There was black mould around the window frames, across the bathroom ceiling and on the fabric... More

Seahaven is a lovely B&B right on the coast at Ryde. I asked for a sea view and was happy to get a great view over the pier. We arrived a little early, but Cheryl was happy for us to leave bags in the communal lounge until the room was ready. The room and bed were really comfortable, and bathroom... More

Had a lovely weekend here for my friends wedding in May. Bathrooms need updating but the room was clean with nice decor. Felt very 'homely'. The owner greeted us on arrival and was very helpful suggesting where to go and what to do. Yes it's a little rough at the edges but I actually liked that, especially as it was... More

+ Fantastic view from bedroom and bathroom (!). Very nice breakfast. Close to Ryde Pier, trains, buses and hover craft. Perfect situated if you want to explore the Esplanade and the beaches but also close to shops. - The bed needsnew matress as the springs were gone on one side and the chair should be replaced as it only stood... A no fuss place, very comfortable. Convenient if travelling by train, less than 300 yards from the esplanade rail station, and flat to get to, very useful if one of the group is pushing 80. Overall is exactly what you get for your money, comfortable, clean and friendly.

Stayed here on a one night break, first impressions - the hallway smelt very musty on entering the building though seemed clean enough. My room had a seaview which was nice, although the curtains were on a wire type cord and hard to open or close properly. Bathroom was clean enough but the shower was useless, basically a dribble and... More
