Hawes is lovely bustling village well worth a visit and so your stay is immediately going to be through rose-tinted glasses because of the location. Cockett's hotel is a nice little place. However, the some of rooms were a bit over priced, considering we paid a bit extra for comfy room with a bath (as we had a long journey... More

We visited hawes recently and stayed in cocketts hotel. The owners are friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. The hotel has a wonderful old fashioned feel but that is complimented by good service, tasteful decor, lovely rooms and a fantastic restaurant. The location is perfect, right in the middle of hawes. We would thoroughly recommend a visit to.this gem of a hotel. More

We have visited this hotel on several ocassions over a number of years and it just gets better and better! The owners, Lesley and Bob, are delightful and welcoming and over the last 12 months have carried our a programme of refurbishment in the hotel. The bedrooms are 5 star quality with lots of little touches that make them that... More

Back for our second visit to this small family run hotel, we were not disappointed. If anything the hotel is even better than we remembered, and the upgrades which were taking place last time have paid off, with a fabulous new lounge area for guests to sit and chat in the evenings, and the bar area is now much more... We had a 2 night stay here to celebrate our Silver Wedding, my husband booked it as a surprise and it was a great choice. The cleanliness was excellent. We immediately felt very comfortable in the pleasant bedroom that had real character, the bed and linen were really comfortable also. There was plenty of hot water all the time for... More

We were so thrilled with this hotel, its in the perfect location in the middle of Hawes, handy for all amenities. Our room was perfect, newly decorated, nicely furnished and very comfortable with a very modern en-suite. We ate in the hotel every night as the food was so good with lots of choice, and we were very well looked... More

Our first time at Cocketts but won't be our last. Despite poor weather we had a warm and relaxing stay. The food was excellent, and the chef very successfully adapted one of his specials so that both of us could enjoy it. The owners have exactly the right balance of being warmly welcoming without pretending to be your best friends.... More

We were escorting friends from South Africa and could not pass up the chance to visit Hawes. We only had one night in Cocketts but I am happy to say it was an extremely pleasant experience. The whole place oozes country charm. The room we stayed in was compact but comfortable with everything you could need for a lovely stay.... More

Quick and easy check in on a lovely sunny afternoon. Straight to The Fountain for a few Golden sheep (beer) and then a lovely hot bath and change for dinner. The room (Wensleydale) has a good view over the hills at the rear of the hotel. Very quiet. Good bed and excellent bathroom. Yorkshire Tea is a plus in the... More
