We have stayed at the cottages at Ross Farm every year for nearly a decade and we are never disappointed. This year, we really needed the break and found all the improvements in the cottage a wonderful surprise. The location is perfect for people who enjoy breathtaking scenery, watching wildlife and complete peace and quiet. Our son loves the walk... More

We spent a week at Oystercatcher Cottage, our first week at Ross after three previous stays at Outchester. We have never been disappointed either with the cottage or the location and this proved to be equally true at Oystercatcher. The simplest thing to say is that these cottages are like a home away from home. They are spacious, well planned... More

Thoroughly unique accommodation with all the mod cons you'd expect from a 5 star property. We absolutely loved our stay in the Ducket and found it the perfect base for exploring this part of Northumberland.

I booked a week’s stay in the Ducket as a surprise 40th Birthday holiday for my wife. We had a fantastic week visiting the local tourist attractions, and the highlight was the fabulous Ducket with its five star rating and stunning views.

Recently, my wife and I with 3 friends spent between 1 and 3 nights in Oystercatcher. The cottage has recently benefitted from the rolling refurbishment and is extremely comfortable and well equipped, by any standard. I am partially disabled but found it easy to move around the cottage, particularly getting in and out of the step-free shower. The only problem... More

Many thanks for posting your remarks on Oystercatcher Cottage on this site and we're so pleased you enjoyed your stay, found the cottage comfortable and appreciated the improvements. Only one of our cottages is actually officially designated for people with mobility problems and that is Eiderduck Cottage, which carries a M1accreditation. However I'm pleased that you didn't encounter any difficulties... More

We have just returned from West Coastguards Cottage, one of the many cottages at Ross we have stayed in over the years. It was great to see all the improvemnts since last year. We love the Coastguard Cottages because they are almost in the dunes. Their location is stunning. Ross beach must be up there with the best beaches in... More

Many thanks for taking the time to leave such nice comments. It's very much appreciated. We're so pleased you like the improvements we've made to West Coastguards Cottage and also managed to enjoy a walk on Ross Beach. Looking forward to welcoming you again in September. Best wishes. More

Tonight is our last night at one of coastguard cottages at Ross.this is our 2nd time here (we stayed at the same cottage in July 2012).This is super self catering accommodation in a great part of Northumberland. However it seems the owners are neglecting the upkeep to the sort of standards you would expect for the price. I'm sat now... More

Many thanks for bringing these matters to our attention. We are sorry to hear of your complaints. We are also checking our records to examine why your original comments from last year were not addressed. We take pride in the high standard of our cottages, all of which have recently received glowing reports from Visit England Quality in Tourism. Our... More

There isn't a lot I can say that hasn't already been said; the cottages are clean, well thought out and well equipped - even to the point of there being an electrical hand whisk if you fancy doing some cooking, Wi-Fi and an iPod dock. This is our third time staying here over a 10 year period, at first as... More

We stayed at Wagtail cottage with my husband's parents, his sister and brother-in-law and our two year old and there was plenty of room for all of us. The farmer and his wife were very welcoming, and as it was Easter and the lambs and calves were being born, they took us down to see the new borns. My son... More

Various members of our extended family have been staying in one or more of these fantastic cottages for many years. Every time we say, "we will be back". Our recent visit to The Beacons Cottage at Ross proved to be best, despite the cold weather (including snow) in early March. This is one of 8 cotttages at Ross; there are... More
