Unreservedly recommended for quality food and drink. We had dinner there twice, although booked to sleep elsewhere - and the quality was consistent. The place is comfortable, has fascinating and tasteful decors in its various spaces, has friendly and efficient staff, and serves very tasty freshly prepared food from a well designed menu coupled with well chosen and correctly served... Our party booked three rooms at the Olde Ship for three nights----all were well decorated and appointed and clean to an excellent standard. The service and friendliness of all staff was first class and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners each day. There was no problem with noise and we all thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We will definitely return. More

For £118 for one night inc. breakfast the room my wife and I got was tiny, real squeezing past each other sort of thing, not on for that sort of money. When the front door of the hotel opened it activated a sort of 'ding dong' doorbell, as we were just up the stairs from the bell this was pretty... More

After spending a week in Seashouses myself and my group decided on our last night to go out for dinner. After picking the Ship and getting fairly excited, we were shown the menu which seemed very expensive on first look for what was essentially egg mayonnaise for starter and pie for main. I set my reservations aside as we hadn't... More

We stayed for a long weekend in order to visit the Farne Islands. The hotel is 1 minute's walk from the harbour, so excellently placed. (However, Seahouses is small enough that really any accomoodation is walking distance to the harbour!) Positive: Lovely friendly staff, huge a la carte breakfast. The rooms were clean, warm and very comfy. Negative: The decor... More

We were greeted swiftly and given a menu and ordered a pre dinner drink which took a long time to arrive. Both our starters were good and hearty. Mains were a nice looking fish platter which my wife enjoyed whilst I had the trio of fish which was frankly disappointing given our location to the sea, they appeared to have... More

This is a hotel where attention to the restaurant would improve the rating considerably. Our room was excellent, although we did pay extra for a premium room. Some of the staff were first class although some of the younger staff need more training! Breakfasts were excellent during the week, but poor at the weekend. (Change of staff perhaps?) The last... Spent 3 nights here, as a birthday treat.... Seahouses is beautiful, picturesque and smells wonderful (i.e: The sea!) The Ship is a friendly place, very central (although parking sometimes difficult). Atmospheric bar area, with a great Seafood Platter (tucked away into a cosy corner, with lobster pots on the walls). Decent glass of white wine too... Seem to do a... More
