My wife and I stayed at Sparkhayes in the twin/family room for one night in September 2012. The room is large and light having double aspect and it is beautifully furnished ,as is the rest of the house. Our beds were the most comfortable of all of our stays during our trip to the UK and the breakfast was delicious.... More

A one night stay as we set off on our coastal cycling tour. Luckily for us this coincided with Porlock Carnival. Jackie & David were very welcoming. David immediately found space in an outbuilding for our bikes. A lovely house; both the bedroom and guests lounge were well furnished. After enjoying the carnival and a pub meal, having noted David's... More

Sparkhayes was the last stop on our walking tour along the Coleridge Way and we could not have chosen better. David, our host, was wonderfully welcoming and obliging and the house is truly charming, filled with beautiful things (in main rooms and bedrooms) and blessed with comfortable, generous-sized and restful bedrooms. The house is excellently placed, being central to Porlock... More

I stayed here with a friend of mine at the end of June 2012. David was very welcoming and the room was top notch (even a view of the sea). Breakfasts were most excellent hmmm i can taste those eggs as i type this. Although i stayed with a friend of mine on this occasion i would bring my family... More

My wife and I stayed here one night on the Jubilee weekend in June 2012. We were made most welcome by David. This B&B was a real delight to stay in. It was spotlessly clean and tidy, had off street parking and yet is still walking distance to the shops, pubs and restaurants of Porlock. Rooms perhaps would be better... More

A very comfortable, quiet and well-run B&B in a good location, close to the centre of Porlock and a short walk from the sea. The owners are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good. The room we stayed in had nice views of the sea. I would recommend it as a good place to stay if you're exploring... More

We just got back from an incredible stay at the Sparkehayes B&B in Porlock, England. This B&B was exceptional in beauty and accomodations. The owners run a terrrific business and everything from the food to the rooms were absolutely wonderful. Anyone looking for old world charm in a bucolic setting, you have found it. This B&B is a must.

We were given a warm welcome by the owners, followed by a pot of tea and biscuits by the real log fire in the beautiful living room. Our rooms were stylishly furnished, with lots of luxurious touches like throws and cushions, and the beds were delightful! We ate a wonderful home cooked breakfast. We could not have asked for more... More
