We were "upgraded" to an Ocean View Room with balcony. We were only staying one night. The room looked great. The first freight train pulled up outside at 3am. Not just pulled up but shunted backwards and forwards for an hour as the freight depot is just down the road. The noise level is unbelievable! No double glazed windows. It... More

We stayed elsewhere before staying here and wished we had of stayed here the whole time. Lovely motel. Clean, comfortable and great location. Restaurant is nice as well. The only thing was the bath in shower seemed a bit stained in a certain spot from people standing there. It wasnt too bad and wouldnt stop me staying there again.

Situated directly opposite the Burnie waterfront and on the edge of the CBD The Voyager provided a great place to spend the weekend. There is plenty to do and see (e.g. the local crafts workshop complex and the Hellyers distillary with its tasting and cafe) and other towns are within easy driving distance. Though there is a trainline in close... More

This hotel is well located close to city center and waterfront. But, the rail line in front if the hotel means a wake-up call by a train before 5am each morning. Wood veneer dado and dark grey shot-crete ceilings are so 80's. A new bathroom is great. The two-tone cream carpet with worn dirty grey wear mark is unacceptable. All... More

Comfortable accomadation with nice verandah overlooking the water . Close to the port so we had a train coming at front of unit but did not worry us. Close to town central and over road from nice fish cafe and walking distance to penguin viewing in summer. We enjoyed our stay here and would come here again just for view.... More

The rooms were very nice after a recent refurb, but in our room at least they forgot about the verandah. It was very dirty and had broken chairs, (One of the legs was two inches shorter than all the others). So could not sit outside. The room inside was well maintained and really quite comfortable. Nice linen and beds. Has... More

I have stayed here several times over the years and this stay was very pleasant. We received an upgrade to the ocean view room which had a large balcony overlooking West Beach. The surf club was active and a wine enjoyed while taking this in was indeed pleasant. The room was modern (recent refurb) and the large bed and linen... More

Although the outside of the motel looked dull the rooms were fairly modern with a large bathroom and the bed was very comfortable and spacious! We were within walking distance to everything and straight across the road from the walking track that went along the beach. The restaurant in the motel served a yummy and very filling breakfast. Staff were... More

I've stayed here on a number of occasions and love the rooms. They are renovated, of a good size, well maintained, and the staff are friendly. The breakfast is good and reasonably priced. On my last stay I was amazed at the size of the room, 2 QS beds, most likely a Family Room. The surprise came when I opened... More

Jenni at Reception was so friendly and helpful - great, we thought. I can give you a room with a sea view - great, we thought. The manager is in a good mood, so I'll give you a discount - great, we thought. BUT those trains at 5 am that shunted for ages were not worth any discount or sea... More
