We stayed here at a last minute decision and we are glad we did. The place is full of history and character and we had a wonderful time. The room is spacious and full of luxury and even tho it is on the main road, we could barely hear this at night. We were given a tour of the place... More

Thanks for your comments about your recent stay. It's pleasing that last minute visitors can enjoy the Foxhunters experience just as much as travellers who've planned a visit months ahead. Look forward to welcoming you back sometime. More

Fox hunters return was an excellent choice for our overnight stay. We had 2 rooms between a party of 4 - the old kitchen and room 4. The old kitchen had a fireplace which was stacked ready for lighting, Queen bed, sitting area with 2 chairs, and a good size ensuite bathroom. Room 4 had a front and back entrance... More

Foxhunters Return is indeed a wonderful place and it's great to hear it was an excellent choice for your family group. We do try and offer more than just a comfortable bed for the night and we enjoy showing off the property in our after breakfast tours and assisting our visitors from interstate and overseas enjoy their time in Tassie. Perfect way to start our trip through tasmania. Stayed here 4 years ago and will come back again. Great breakfast to start the day. Love the work done in the cellar to accomadate the bookshop. Great service and excellent recommendation for dinner at Zepps.

I stayed in the Cook's Quarters and found it to be clean and comfortable. The room was warm enough which is saying a lot as it was winter and I really feel the cold. Staff were friendly and I loved the breakfast and tour.

What luck we found this lovely B&B on wotif. A beautiful property with breathtaking history. We stayed in room 1 which used to be the kitchen complete with original stove. Clean room and great shower. Quiet. Delightful room. Breakfast was simple but delicious - croissants and coffee and fruit. Following breakfast our host gave us a fabulous tour of the... More

We booked the Coachmaster's room, which was a lovely two-bedroom suite with period furniture and fittings. It was quite comfortable, though we had some issues with the hot and cold shower (which finally stabilised long enough for a wash), and if you're a light sleeper you might find the traffic noise a little annoying (nothing like highway motels on the... On our search for colonial heritage B&B homes in Tasmania to stay at we found another in Cambell Town - between Hobart and Launceston. Lovely quiet little town. We had a cottage type room at the back of the house with well stocked fire, think it was the old kitchen. Clean comfortable and nice experience. Continental breakfast in the morning... More

If you want to steep yourself in the history of Tasmania then the Foxhunters Return in Campbell Town will fit the bill nicely. We stayed very comfortably in what was once the Public Bar. The apartment comprised a spacious bedroom, sitting room and ensuite bathroom, all decorated with period furnishings where possible. You can also stay in the renovated stables.... More

We stayed a couple of nights here at this B and B and had a really good stay. The inns history is fascinating and the book shop below that is set up in the old cellars is amazing. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was more than adequate.
