Don't let your mind fill with images of bougainvillaea and lakeside spring water.....what you get is an out of town traditional motel style building set on a hillside a fair way from the bay. But what you also get is a quiet setting and clean apartments that the new owner is modernising. They are fairly well equipped for self catering... More

The new owners were very helpful when contacted in advance as we were concerned about bush fires. They also allowed us to pay on arrival which was useful coming from UK. We stayed in a one bed apartment with sea view, as described. Interior was dated and in need of a re-fit. Wifi available but only if you sat in... More

This was definitely no frills accommodation. Was very dated in decor inside and out having said that we were greated by the owner/manager in a very friendly manner and he gave us great advice on where we could eat and what to see in the area and also about our trip to launceston the next day. The accommodation was comfortable... More

The views from the room were nice....but I wouldnt go as far as saying it was great. Seemed like the roof of the unit in front of us blocked half the views. Room was comfortable, well equipped and very quiet...although I agree with other reviews about saggy couch, . We had 1 issue with the fridge. It was barely colder than... More

The best thing about the place is its location. Away from the busy streets is peaceful with nice water front view from the balcony. Villa we stayed in had 2 good size bed rooms with 2 toilets , 1 bathroom and a large living room with well equipped kitchen on the first floor. We arrived quite late on a Christmas... More

Very comfortable and clean units at a good price. Nice views over the bay from balcony, very quiet and peaceful, no traffic noise at night. New owner/manager very friendly and helpful. Close enough to walk into town and bike paths close by. Couch in living area was a bit saggy and bed a bit hard for my liking. Modern, well... More

e really enjoyed our stay in St Helens and the accommodation here was a top choice. We had our bikes so enjoyed the nearby beautiful bay-side path to ride along for a coffee shop visit. The unit was really spacious with upstairs living area and a kitchen. Down had two good sized bedrooms and a bathroom. There are two separate... More

Recently stayed at this dive. The drab boring exterior matches the interior. Extremely inflexible and grumpy owner/operator. No DVD in room to play your own movies. Cannot walk to town centre. In short, I would not stay here again. I noticed the place was for sale. Hopefully whoever buys it will know know the meaning of professionalism and customer service,... More

Double storey units with bedrooms downstairs (so no luggin cases upstairs), and lovely lounge/kitchen/dining room upstairs. Comfortable holiday unit at reasonable rates. Everything you need for a long or short stay. All cooking facilities, laundry etc. Great bargain. Would certainly stay again.

We stayed here in November. We did not have a booking and from the outside appearance of this very 70s looking motel we weren't terrribly enthusiastic. The owner(?)Manager(?) was laid back to the point of grumpiness. He said he did not have a single apt but offered us a double for $140 - outside our budget and unnessary - he... More
