We chose to stay at Addlestone House on one of the seven nights of our Tasmanian tour because of the excellent reviews in TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet (in fact, all 7 nights were in best-rated accommodation). Our night at Addlestone, a cosy bungalow, was easily the best. In addition to being excellent value for money, innkeeper Peter Troode is everything... More

Peter is a charming host. His personal welcome, chocolates and fresh flowers in an extremely comfortable room, delicious breakfast (with ample choices), guest lounge with tea making, fridge, and a glass of port, his local knowledge and recommendations ... (I could go on) all make for a fabulous stay in this beautiful part of Tasmania.

We loved our stay with Peter at Addlestone house. Nothing is too much trouble, and he is more than happy to share info about great places to see nearby. The B&B is absolutely spotless, and the cooked breakfast was great. He takes beautiful photo's of guests before they leave which is an added bonus! Definitely would come back if we... More

A second visit in four weeks, both magnificent! An extraordinary facility and an astonishing host. It is like going back in time when style, grace and charm were fundamental principles of family values. As good, if not better, than any B&B we have visited in France, Belgium or the rest of Australia. An essential for any tourist to the North East... More

Excellent in all respects. Immaculately clean. We couldn't fault this Bed & Breakfast. We have stayed in B&Bs all over the world and Addlestone House is definitely one of the best. Our host Peter puts a lot of effort into making his guests feel at home & was very informative about the area, which meant that we saw places that... More

Our time in St Mary's and at Addlestone House with Peter was one of the highlights of visiting Tasmania. Myself husband and daughter spent a month cycling around the state and planned on staying only one night passing thru St Mary's. Peter was such a great host we stayed an additional night and would have stayed longer but he was... More

Addlestone House and its owner Peter are definitely worthy of these glowing reviews. We have stayed in B&Bs in many towns in many countries and this place is up there with the very best. Our host Peter was delightful company, very knowledgeable and informative about the area and Tassie in general. The house and rooms are beautifully appointed, with great... More

We had a great stay at Addlestone House - a lovely base for exploring the north-east of Tasmania. The room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated, with nice touches like chocolates and port after dinner. It was great to meet Peter, our excellent host, and share tips on photography and the optional portrait was a fantastic memento of our stay.... More

We stayed for 2 days. Couldn't wish for better. Everything is immaculate. Peter is a great host - nothing is too much trouble - and a font of knowledge about the area. St Mary's is a good base to explore both the coast and hinterland. The Saint Patrick's Head walk near St Mary's is quite difficult - you need to... More
