This rating is for the restaurant inside the hotel. Our room was very nice and no issues. My daughter and I ordered 2 salads for dinner tonight. A Ceaser Salad with steak and the Waldorf Salad. My daughter asked for medium and the steak came out rare, with juice all over the bottom of the plate. They kindly took the steak back, but it came out well done and charred. She took one bite and left the rest on her plate. I ordered the Waldorf salad with salmon. The salmon also came out rare, when asked for medium and they forgot the walnuts on the salad. Neither salad had enough dressing and the dressing was very bland (Ceasar on one and Blue Cheese on the other). The lettuce was really a plate of stems too. Both of us were highly disappointed. The waitress I'm sure could tell we didn't touch our protein, but nothing was offered or discussed. She basically looked at the plates and knew. I am not one to send food back, but I do expect a server to make sure everything is okay and she did not. Lastly, the silverware. Very poor choice of utensils.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed here for a Mud Hens game. The last time we stayed it was the Part Inn. Hilton came in and did an entire renovation, which was needed. I think they did a great job overall. The property recently opened up and I think it is going through a bit of a learning curve, as well as, having issues staffing as needed. We were only here for one night and were not in the hotel for very long. My experience was not as bad as some of the recent reviews mentioned. We did take a fan in case there was an issue with the temperature in the room. Whatever the issue with the thermostats were that former guests mentioned was not our experience. The AC seemed fine to us and it was a very warm night. We valet parked the car and this was fine for us, but they were really backed up. I felt bad for the valet that was parking the car because he was getting yelled at by people that wanted their cars out and he was inundated by people arriving at the hotel. For check-in, there was a very long line waiting to get checked in. We waited for a bit, then decided to use the digital key to get in our room and by passed the line. The room was nice and new. From there, we went to the game and came back to go to bed. We did not use the restaurant, but it looked nice. I would certainly stay here agin.

The Hotel stay itself was fine. The room was clean, no complaints until check out. The Lady at the check out requested a card for incidentals even though I had already pd through Travelocity. After I got home the next day I realized that not only did Travelocity charge me so did the hotel ,not once, not twice, but three times plus the incidental fee which is supposed to come off in 4 business days , which by the way today is the fourth business day. no one will return my calls. If you stay here I suggest paying in cash.

Thank you for providing a review from your most recent stay with us. All guests are required to provide a credit card for incidentals, even when they prepay through a third-party booking site. We do not accept cash payments upon arrival. I apologize for the billing discrepancy that occurred during your stay, however it was corrected by Managment on your departure date.

For being such a new hotel, it looked tired and dirty. The carpeting has stains on it and the floor in the elevator was dirty. The bathroom floor in my room was filthy underneath the sink area - there were rubber bands, dirt and it made me feel that the rest of the room must not be clean either. It was a Tuesday night stay, so not even a busy weekend. One good thing: the staff was super nice! I would not want to stay here again, sadly as I do like the new Hilton Garden Inns traditionally. This was a huge disappointment.

As I always state, I try to stay at a Hilton brand during my road trips I had just left Cleveland Ohio heading back to Chicago spent the night in Toledo Ohio. I had stopped to go Put-in bay Ohio, which was only a 55 minute drive from Toledo so it help break up my 5 Hour Dr. back to Chicago. It’s a newer hotel lots of places to eat. Free parking

Carpet was dirty, apparently not vacuumed before I checked in. There were crumbs on the counters. There was no usable hanging garment storage in the room. I included this information in the online survey that Hilton sends after you check out. The response from the hotel indicated it was "because of the pandemic". So the (now past) pandemic is their justification for not cleaning between guests? The only highlight is the proximity to the Mudhens baseball stadium and the river.

Dear Brandon, Thank you for sharing your experience, we are disappointed to hear we fell short of our standard service and your expectations, I apologize for the inconveniences this caused you. The response you are referring to was generated from Hilton Guest Assist, not our hotel team, and we agree with you that those remarks are not applicable or excusable for the service that is expected by any Hilton hotel. Had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Garden Inn for the Walleye Playoffs! Convenient location, we were able to walk through the convention center into the arena which was the best since it was raining. Had a great view of the baseball stadium too, will have to return over the summer!

The atmosphere and room itself were amazing. The room was comfortable and contained many amenities. However, this hotel seriously fails at not committing fraud. We booked our hotel and paid for it in full via Expedia. We also paid for breakfast for 2 days. When we arrived, they attempted to charge us for the room again. I had to argue that I paid for it and I had to prove it via my Expedia Receipt. They tried charging my credit card. Then, after getting to our room, I look at my receipt and it shows I paid for breakfast for 2 guests for 2 days. However, they only have a restaurant on site. So I called down and they stated I should have gotten vouchers when I checked in. But of course I didn't. After getting the vouchers, we were told to just go to the restaurant and order what we wanted for breakfast. We were told by the restaurant that they bill it to the room and then the front desk removes it. On our second day, we went to check out and I asked the lady to confirm that we paid for parking(as we expexted) and that the meals were removed. They were not removed and she claimed that she couldn't fix it because she "already checked us out" so I was told the manager would refund it later that morning. I called at 4pm since I still hadn't gotten copies of my receipts I asked for. I finally got the receipt, but the breakfast costs remained on the bill. The hotel refuses to take my calls or emails. So I lost money on their failures. Be careful staying here! They will commit fraud and they do not care!

My company and I checked in to our 3 rooms through our Hilton Honors App as is recommended for Hilton Honors Members. We found out the rooms we selected the previous evening were not going to be available after we had already arrived. I spoke with Shayna Hunt to ask about getting our 3 rooms on the same floor. I later found out that she was the Associate Guest Service Manager. Shayna first lied and told me that there weren’t 3 rooms on the same floor and it was my fault for choosing “dirty rooms” that the hotel wasn’t going to be able to clean for us ( I didn’t have a preference for the floor). After clarifying that there were not 3 rooms available on ANY floor she got verbally aggressive and her body language totally changed. Her whole demeanor became very aggressive and confrontational. She said that there were 3 rooms available on the same floor and she might be able to get us those rooms but that there was no way she could guarantee it and that I would have to come back at 3PM (it was 2:35 and most of the people working the same event as us had already checked in t 10:30 am) and she would see what she could do. When I came back to check in later there was a different staff member and they were unable to find our pre-paid reservation at first, it took almost an additional 10 mins for that staff member to find our keys which were hidden in a separate office. The 2-night stay was extremely uncomfortable after my interaction with Shayna, I felt like I was constantly on alert in case I bumped into her again. The whole experience was very confrontational and aggressive, I honestly felt like Shayna was going to escalate the situation into a physical confrontation due to how aggressive her body language and tone were. Shayna did offer to get her manager which I declined, I didn’t want to risk any further confrontation by being interacting with Shayna when she was acting so unpredictable and aggressive. The hotel itself was decent and seemed nice. I personally would recommend staying at another hotel in the area where you won’t have to worry about a confrontation with Shayna.

The hotel is very nice. Room was clean and the river view was nice. I skipped the valet parking and parked in the attached Glass City center parking garage for $10. I had to pay on the way in (maybe because there was a Mud Hens game that night?) so something to consider if you plan on taking the car out more than once per day. Now the problems. Room key didn't work. Went down and they reprogrammed it. Went back up and it still didn't work. They then sent an employee up to let us into our room while they worked on the issue. After a bit we decided to go for a walk and said we'd check with them when we got back in. When we got back they said they would move us to a different room as the issue was still unresolved. An employee escorted us to our old room and couldn't get in. We waited while she got another key, after which we were able to complete our move. Our room rate included a free breakfast. You have to get the vouchers each day. When we went to get ours for day two they asked which room we were in. It wasn't in the system that they had moved us, so the girl made our move official, and then issued us new keys as they suspected the old ones would quit working, which was correct. Housekeeping never made it to our room after day one. I suspect that's because they went to our original room. We ordered off the breakfast menu the first day, and had the buffet the next day. No problems with the food. When I got home I checked my credit card online and discovered a charge I didn't recognize. I called the hotel, and it turns out they charged us for breakfast both days. I explained we had the breakfast vouchers and they corrected the issue with no hassle. All of my interactions with the employees were pleasant. They were always very nice and apologetic for the issues. I will add that I was very patient and never got upset with anyone. I got the impression I was dealing with some newer employees. Anyway, I would be willing to give this place another try as it really is a nice hotel in a convenient location.
