We come to Cannon Beach once or twice a year for a peaceful getaway from Seattle. Love staying by the estuary -- it's quiet, a lovely spot to watch the waves, birds, sunsets, moon sets, the occasional bunny rabbit and sometimes even elk. Stayed at Sea Sprite for the first time because our usual place was unavailable, enjoyed the more upscale spa inspired atmosphere. Osprey Suite (Room 24) had a spacious bath room with a jetted tub (which we did not try, but it looked nice). Living room area was comfy, nice sofa and a wingback reading chair in front of a gas fireplace. Plenty of nice towels and fixtures to hang them in the bath room -- extra beach towels and even kitchen towels located in the second floor corridor closet, along with a washer/dryer (no coins required, eco laundry soap provided). Sand toys for kids and extra room supplies also thoughtfully tucked into the corridor closet. Lantern and candles thoughtfully in cupboard above the refrigerator. Everything very clean. Beds were comfy. Took a little while to realize there was a key to unlock the Murphy bed, it worked very well for our adult son. Very nice, cushy quilt on the king bed in the main bed room. Kitchen is well equipped. High quality Sleepy Monk coffee provided for the drip coffee maker, plus a small assortment of Stash teas. I did not cook this trip, but all the tools to whip up meals were there. Stove/oven and dishwasher are New York apartment sized, more than adequate for a vacation. Our dishwasher was broken, only hiccup this stay. There was no wash tub/rack in the kitchen, so I pulled the bottom rack out of the dishwasher, put it on the counter on top of a towel, that worked well. Minuses: Not much closet space in this particular suite, only a small closet in the main bed room. Two cute racks to hang outwear in the entryway made up for this somewhat. Could hear chairs being pushed around in the upstairs suite, probably from use of the kitchen table set. Was not a problem otherwise, as in any small inn, some neighbor noise is to be expected. Nice that the door to the unit is on a punch code lock -- made it easy for all three of us to come and go as each wished without having to coordinate physical keys. Location is ideal, close to nature, right by the estuary and beach, with a 20-minute or so walk to the Haystack, and a couple of blocks walk to town. Lovely little deck from which to watch the sunset in the evening, and drink coffee in the morning (after you wipe the deck chair of morning dew, of course). Would happily stay again!…
