We stayed here for 2 nights (Wed/Thurs) in one of the "quiet side" rooms as we were concerned about the noise after reading all of the TA reviews. It is definitely a hotel with thin floors and walls because you really hear everything. I'm also a lighter sleeper and wake up to abrupt loud noises, so there were a few... More

Clean hipster spot. 15 minute walk to downtown. I was there on a Fri and Sat and I don't know what it's like during the week but if you're looking for a tranquil stay on a weekend this is not it. Outside bar was going strong when I turned in at 2 on Fri. I happened to be staying in... More

I like staying at Jupiter Hotel when I am in PDX for work. It has a very young and hip vibe and they have awesome shows at Doug Fir, which I can walk to or simply listen to from outside of my hotel room. This can be a very busy place, with lots of young adults loitering the halls and... More

Dear Carmel U, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us and our future guests. I'm glad that you enjoy the vibe and atmosphere we have here! Your observations are right on and we agree. While we try to have a property that is perfect for everyone, that is not always the case and we are... More

We love this little treasure in Portland, it's super fun and affordable. The Doug Fir has great food, nothing fancy, but the price is right and we'll keep coming back because it hits the mark! The location is out of the downtown core, for better if you're looking for quiet and worse if you want to avoid driving.

The rooms are simple, clean and small (ours was VERY small) with some fun hipster touches, like a dry-erase boarded door that you can write on, and a copy of "The Four Agreements" on the nightstand. The clientele is young and it gets very loud throughout the night because of their bar becomes a popular club. I used the earplugs... More

Dear megado5, So happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We really do try to provide a fun, "mucho hip" atmosphere that people will enjoy and it sounds like we succeeded. We understand we have a louder than average hotel, hence the earplugs, but as you experienced; a relaxed stay with lots of sleep is the norm not the... More

My 20 year old daughter & I stayed at the Jupiter Hotel this past weekend. It was seemed the closest place near Float On which was a major part of our weekend. It felt like the actual structure of the hotel hadn't changed much since decades ago, but the rooms were updated for the modern, hipster IKEA crowd. Another review... More

My husband and I stayed at the Jupiter in July 2012 when he was attending a conference for work. The Pros: - Great price - Great location, especially if you want to check out fun shops, coffee houses and restaurants nearby - Eco friendly... they have a few rules in place to try and be environmentally conscious - Bike rental... I booked a night due to a holiday, so I wouldn't have to take a cab all the way home. It's not to far away from downtown and if you take a cab it's only about $5-7 USD. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for anybody looking for a quiet place to stay. The bar / restaurant is right outside and... More

Dear MarkZ-PDX, I am glad that the hotel provided the perfect spot for your Portland trip. My boyfriend and I attended a music festival at the Bossanova Ballroom last summer and the logical place to stay was next door at the Jupiter. Needless to say, we were not disappointed! I discovered Wax On Spa was right next door, so I popped in for some much-needed maintenance before the show. Sizzle Pie is a short walk and... More

Dear octalpus, Thank you for staying with us last summer and thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
