Just returned again from Allenberry and of course everything was perfect. We are counting the days until we return in May. We visited the Allenberry in February and left the warmest area in the nation to see tranquility. As always my expectations reached a new level with all the staff who are all exceptional and our surroundings A+. If you... More

This was our fifth year coming to Allenberry for their Murder Mystery Weekend. It began Friday evening with food, food and more delicious food while the cast of characters intermingled with the guests, sang and the plot unfolded. Saturday was spent trying to keep track of who was injured, who said what, who wore what, who sang what, who was... More

The food is much better than it had been for some time, especially the a la carte menu. The theatre? They're professional, and it's separate from the restaurant, avoiding the discomforts of dinner theatre. But don't sleep there. Limited disability options, desperate need of refurbishing, and I had stains on both bedspreads. No handicap access to upper floors, hard to... More

We found Allenberry on a fly-fishing trip in the Penn. mountains. It sits on a great river for fly-fishing. The place is pretty basic, (actually, rather "tired"), but the bed was comfortable, and the water was hot, although pressure was limited. The staff was pleasant, and we enjoyed a late dinner in the bar (the food was excellent, and the... More

Loved the murder mystery weekend!!! Play and actors were fantastic! Food was wonderful! Lodgings are dated and need updating but the lodges were very clean and neat. Was a wonderful weekend away! Enjoyed the time with family. Would be a great place for a group of friends or a girl's get away.

We were here for a family reunion of sorts. Each building is seperate and requires walking. The buildings aren't too spread out, but it can be difficult for the elderly or those with leg/back issues. My family shared the Irving Cottage with another family. There is plenty of room, 6 beds, several chairs and plenty of towels. It comes with... More

When staying in this area there are only hotels in the city of Carlisle, on the very noisy highway or Allenbury. People come here for the plays, the buffet and the lovely grounds. There are few of the amenities you expect with hotels. High priced, small rooms, buildings can be noisy with groups booking blocks of rooms for family occasions,... More

I stayed here for the murder mystery weekend. While the actors and entertainment were wonderful and top notch, I was disappointed in my stay overall because of the room and lack of activities available. My room in the Meadow Lodge was very outdated. The shower was tiny and seemed to be from the '70s, as did the rest of the... More

We stayed here recently for a one-night weekend getaway with some family. We ended up staying in the Meadow Lodge, which is very close to the pool and restaurant/bar area. It's a great place for fisherman, as the creek is right on the property. The pros of the place are that it's very quiet and relaxing. Don't count on getting... More
