My review is based solely on stopping at The Fountain Inn for a couple of pints; I haven't eaten in or stayed at this venue. Bar staff were very friendly, the interior is very comfortable, a classic English pub, lots of character and personality in the building and it's layout. The selection of ales was impressive and varied - a... More

Having never been to Mevagissy we had no idea what to expect but we were both pleased to find a working port with real people and businesses sprinkled with some tourist shops, the Fountain was a wonderful old pub which seems to serve just as many locals as tourists, the local people are all very friendly and are always willing... The Fountain Inn is a traditional pub offering a good range of beers and ciders, great food and a warm welcome from the friendly landlord and his excellent bar staff. I was part of a group of 11, visiting Mevagissey for a weekend break - the Fountain was recommended to us by some locals and, once we were in there,... More

My children took me to the fountain Inn for a mothers day lunch, they had pork, beef or fish and chips, not an extensive menu!!!! but we ordered the roast beef, when it came I was astonished, the yorkshire pudding was huge, but burnt to a crisp, so black, could not understand why any chef would let that leave his... We booked to eat in the restaurant and really enjoyed the intimate setting. The menu included a good range of locally caught fish. Our food was well cooked and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly but a bit too absent. It was difficult to order a new drink or get sauce as no staff stayed in the restaurant with you.... More

After enjoying some good ale here, we were planning on heading back to our hotel, but stopping in the local greengrocer's to pick up some fruit, they advised us the Fountain did fantastic takeaway fish and chips and it was 'where all the locals got their fish and chips!' so we went back for more ale (no hardship) and waited... Popped into this Inn many times in passing but this was our first stay. It was everything we hoped & wanted. The Inn is steeped in tradition, great friendly locals, fantastic service & run by a couple who have put this pub on the map. They are so good at what they do, customers will always return. You walk in... More

You can't resist eating at ''The Fountain Inn'' but you have to make a booking. We tried 3 times off the cuff and didn't get in till the fourth. The atmosphere is great for us colonials as the place dates back to the 13th century and I don't think its been renovated much since then. Therefore it reeks atmosphere. The... More

Just had a wonderful 5 nights at Fountain Inn on recontamination of a friend. Rooms at Fountain Inn are small but perfectly formed and comfortable. Two en-suit rooms outside at the back of the pub up a spiral staircase and one on the top floor. Breakfast was very good. You get asked what you what cooking, no menu. Food is... More

Wasn't expecting much due to reviews and price, but suited us down to the ground. The pub's nice, the room was cosy, breakfast was huge and staff were friendly. Seagulls are but noisy first thing in the morning, but to be expected next to the sea.
