My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. When you first get to the address, you think that you are driving in a bush road but we were pleasantly surprised. It is a very quiet. Loved the private entrance to our room. The hosts are very friendly and provided a very nice breakfast. It was our first time at a B & B and probably not our last.

We needed a place to overnight before catching the ferry to Tobermory. Not really knowing Manitoulin Island, we booked this place. It is 35 minutes from the ferry terminal. There is no AC in the room and there is not a fan. Plus the windows only open on one side so no breeze going through. No TV and it rained so we had only the DVD's provided. All but one were horror. Unfinished areas in the room as well. Good wifi. Great host (Ken) and the breakfast brought to the room was delicious. Nice deck that we were able to sit out on before the rain.

My husband and I recently stayed in "The Apartment" at Cedarwood Lodge and it was quite lovely. Our gracious and friendly host, Kenny, was so kind and even served us breakfast in our little breakfast nook when it was too chilly to eat outdoors. Nice touch. We did not meet his wife Jean.
Their place is located very close to the long, sandy beach and was also near to my cousin's place, so we could get together for family events. Our suite was very tidy and clean. Having Wi-Fi access was terrific.
Our only complaints: there was no TV and the DVD player was difficult to operate. The furniture in the sitting area was a bit uncomfortable.

We reserved through Trip advisor and yet the owner emailed and asked us to pay twice as she did not know how to collect the money we paid. She thought WE should try to collect our money back from Trip advisor. We told her it could not be cancelled.
SO we left and went to stay elsewhere. Very stressful and unpleasant. And to think they are in the hospitality business. Who said the customer is always right?

Rustic apartment located in the basement of owner's home. Bedroom is small and dark fake wood panelling, one very small window. Bathroom is very small, kitchen was a good size, full size fridge was nice, sitting area with older furniture, fake wood panelling, one window. Found apartment to be dark with little air movement. However it was clean (including bedding). Being a basement, you hear footsteps from upstairs. Outdoor eating area was nice, great BBQ, gas element, toaster, microwave, lots of dishes, etc. Yard is somewhat overgrown, not very well maintained, alot of stuff everywhere. Maybe this is typical of the island, but it's just not as well maintained as what we were expecting. Lots of clutter and stuff everywhere.

When you drive up you see the most beautiful natural English garden setting with 3 gazebo's set up for outdoor dining complete with bbq, an outdoor kitchen with fridge, freezer, all all possible utensils and dishes needed. There are flowers everywhere in sight. The room is very private and beautifully decorated with dark wood furniture and brand new queen size bed, luxurious bedding and towels, private bathroom with shower and excellent lighting and mirrors for the ladies. There is a cherry wood stand with a glass basin for freshening up along with a bar fridge to keep your wine and beverages cold. The table and chairs inside the room allows you to eat your meals inside if you choose not to use the gazebos on the grounds beside the outdoor kitchen and bar, or in case of inclement weather. Everything in the room was spic and span clean as was the outdoor kitchen, bar, fridge, dishes and utensils.

The couple who own this adorable property are very accomodating, lovely people who aim to please. They provided anything we forgot to bring (our bowl to mix our ceasar salad for dinner) and they even lit the bbq for us so we could bbq our steaks for dinner. There were almost no mosquitoes until 8:15 at night and we sat under the gazebo after dinner enjoying drinks and chatting. There is also a fire pit if you wish to stay up late and chat next to the fire. After dinner, we had no clean up or dishes to do as the owners came and quickly wisked away all of our dishes. We had a picnic lunch packed for the next day and were offered the kitchen fridge to keep it from spoiling.

The price for this was unbelievable @ $75 per night and we had a choice of paying extra for breakfast or not. We chose not as we were headed to the beach the next morning and had packed a huge lunch. Coffee was brewed and waiting for us @ 8:00 a.m. the next morning at the outdoor kitchen/bar and we enjoyed coffee sitting outside in the gazebo in our pyjamas. If you wish a more private setting for morning coffee, there is coffee and tea making facilities in your room along with cream and sugar and your own private patio set just outside your door.

We will definately recommend this to anyone looking for homey, private accomodations and will gladly come back again next year.

We stayed at the Queen Patio Suite (Garden View). Upon driving in, we only saw tall bushes and it seemed kind of run down but changed our minds once we checked in. A friendly gentleman greeted us and banter with us. He showed our room and provided excellent advice on where to eat. The room itself is very well maintained and clean. We were very pleased coming back to a very clean room each day. They rolled our breakfast in a cart in the morning. The only thing to be mindful is there is NO AC but there is a ceiling fan and we felt safe enough to sleep with the screen door and windows open. There is a bird feeder in front of our entrance and we saw an assortment of birds coming everyday. The location is very close (5 mins drive) to Providence Bay! It is 30 mins to Saucer and Cup trail or Gore Bay since the b&b is located the south tip of Manitoulin island.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in August 2016. We stayed in the Tudor suite which was very clean. The decor is tired but the setting and owners totally make up for this.
It has a living room with tv (tv doesn't give channels but a range of DVDs) there is wifi which was great, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The bed is the most comfortable I've ever slept on. It was amazing.
It was hot and there was no no air con or fan and small windows but we could leave them open and let the air in.
Jean and Ken the owners were so lovely and accommodating - really great hosts.
Don't stay here if you want all the mod cons but do stay if you want a lovely rural location and friendly hosts. Lovely continental breakfast in a gorgeous setting.

Would love to have had a few more days to enjoy the company of our most genial host and the warm accommodations he built for us here in a secluded spot just outside of Providence Bay. Ken greeted us in the laneway and entertained us with stories of the local wildlife then, in the morning, served a lovely quiet breakfast "al fresco" on the covered patio. Exquisite furnishings; very comfortable king bed, enjoyable views of the garden. He takes obvious pride in the handiwork he put into building this rustic all-wood home - and his pride is well-deserved.

Not that we stayed often in an B&B, but in our taughts wanting to start one up one day. I'd say that this is the type of B&B I would like to have.Owners are charming, The bed was excellent. The breakfast in the room was more than sufficiant. Croissant, cereals, coffee (Bodum) creamy, toasts, yogurt, fresh stawberry, preserves a boilled egg. WiFi at good speed. Outside ammenities (BBQ) dishes, fridge, coffee. Fire pit. We didn't have a TV. But didn't have time to look at it anyways. If we happen to go back to Manitouland Island, this is the place we are going to stay again.

"The apartment has pretty much a full kitchen, with a hot plate and small oven to prepare any food that you bring. We also used the microwave in the gazebo to pop some popcorn for a cozy movie's night."
