This was our second stay at Middleton Family Bed & Breakfast, so obviously we liked it enough to return. The first time we stayed in the 2 bedroom house (which I prefer) and this time we stayed in the 1 bedroom. Both houses are old, quirky, charming, but a bit shabby and very dated with furnishings ranging from every decade... More

Perfect location and enchanting courtyard. One car tight driveway makes this a problem when another unknown guest is either in the drive or arrives after you. The hostess said "talk to them and work it out" Apt is about what one would find in the old tourist cottages, the TV was old and small altho it did have cable. Steep,... More

This B&B is nicely located south of Broad. It has a beautiful southern garden complete with fountain in the back. However, that's the end of "southern charm" for this place. The furniture is terribly dated and uncomfortable (masked in historic charm?), the bathrooms are impossible to maneuver around with no place to put a bathroom bag but upon a closed... More

What an adorable place! We stayed in the carriage house and it was simply charming. The courtyard and garden is very private and perfect for relaxing after spending the day in Charleston. One thing you should know before you go is if you stay in the carriage house, you will be making your own breakfast. Everything is provided, you just... More

After an exhaustive search to find accommodations for 3 couples (friends) with a kitchen & an outdoor area for cocktails/munchies, we decided on Middleton Family B&B. Note that our stay was in late September with no rain and very low humidity. Overall Pros: ~ The location is great and the courtyard lovely ~ On-site parking a bonus ~ Both houses... More

My husband and I have made Charleston a mainstay stop on our way back to Delaware after visiting grandchildren in Florida....it was also our 30th wedding anniversary! This time, our brief stay in Charleston, was a total experience! From a brick driveway on the side of a simple historical front, it opened to a lovely garden with 2 cottages on... More

This is a great place to stay when enjoying Charleston. It is walking distance from lots of historic sites, parks, museums, restaurants, the water, and King Street shopping. It was comfortable and clean. The small kitchen was well-stocked so that we could easily cook delicious, leisurely breakfasts and have snacks throughout the day. Loved the gas fireplace. And the garden... More

Our family of three went to Charleston for our son's wedding. We stayed in the two-bedroom carriage house and our friends stayed across the courtyard in the one-bedroom house. The carriage house was originally constructed as the kitchen building and slave quarters in 1783 by Isaac Mazyck. It had two floors: upstairs two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and... More

My husband and I stayed here for my birthday in March of this year. We stayed in the one bedroom house/cottage. It was beautiful! Nice price, very nice owners and very comfortable. It is walking distance to everything we wanted to see. There was a kitchen stocked with everything you need for breakfast .. And there was a bottle of... More

stayed in the 2 bedroom. the breakfast is sausage, eggs, frozen coffee cake, enlish muffins and jars of jam that have been opened and used by other guests, who knows when, or if any double dipping has happened. The soap dispensers are refilled with anitbacterial kitchen type stuff. The bathroom soap is cashmere bouquet (10/$1.00) at dollar general. there is... More
