We had a wonderful 2-night stay at the King George. The hospitality of the staff was superb, and we loved our room on the first floor. The onsite parking is perfect (and shady), and our accommodations were beautifully decorated and made us feel like we were actually a part of "old Charleston". While I will agree with others that the... More

We were visiting Charleston and I should admit my husband and I are more hotel than B&B, though we have stayed in many nice ones. Upon arrival we couldn't find a way into the house with all the outer doors locked- we finally stumbled upon a room where inside a nice woman who seemed to be the housekeeper was doing... More

I just agree with the other 5 star reviews. I would definitely stay again and would not bother looking for another B&B. The historic location next to the college and nestled somewhat in between downtown and uptown, is simply ideal. Prices are great for the rooms and for the highly rated restaurants in Charleston as well. We'd have spent a... More

Debra and Terry and all of the staff are wonderful and extremely accomodating. We have stayed here many times and we have always had an excellent time and felt very much at home. The location is perfect for access to the Saturday (farmers) market which I highly recommend, as well as access to the shopping on King and a short... More

As predicted by the reviews I read before I booked, the King George was a beautiful place to stay. The furnishings are gorgeous. The staff was very attentive. However, as most prior reviewers wrote, the breakfasts left much to be desired--as compared to most other B&Bs we have stayed at. Perhaps the distinction is that this is an Inn, not a... More

My sister and I stayed here in April and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's located on a quiet street between King and Meeting streets so it was easy to walk just about anywhere you wanted. Breakfast was delicious yet casual proving a comfortable environment to meet fellow guests and visit with the hosts. Everyone was friendly and went out of... More

We stayed in 2 rooms, 1A & 1B, both were very comfortable and clean. The conversations from the kitchen room do pass into 1B, but only during working hours. The location is great, very close to the free trolley and within easy walking distance to the downtown area. Parking is at a premium, but the staff worked with me to... More

My second time to stay at the King George and still love it. If you want to experience Charleston this is the bed and breakfast to try. The house is an old historic one with modern conveniences. All is very clean and run most efficiently by Charlene (the manager). She is definitely the heart and soul of the Inn -... More

Lovely, historic property well priced with a miniscule parking lot (don't get there late). Room was nicely decorated, clean but the window air conditioner was overworked and could not keep the hot, humid air circulated. Location was a bit north of sites but very close to the free trolley (DASH). Be alert...one night the trolley never came to the stop... More

we got SO lucky, to receive notice from Debra as soon as there was a cancellation. And boy, did those people miss out! The room was 1C (ground floor w/ a private entrance) and it could not have been any better for us. Immediately upon arrival, we were greeted by Charlene - and as great as the inn was, she... More
