We have stayed at this very reasonably priced bed & breakfast several times. The suites are huge with authentic carpentry, brick and mortar. Each having their own unique history. Some with private balcony allowing views of historic history that surround you. No hotel can give these charming glimpses of pre revolutionary times. The suite we love the most on the... More

My husband and I stayed here for the Cooper River Bridge Run and we absolutely loved it. The location was wonderful and at night was quiet. We both love the residential districts of Charleston, so it was a treat to be in this area. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We enjoyed their version of "breakfast" as it allowed... Vic and Anne at 36 Meeting Street were excellent and helpful hosts. We stayed in the Pettigrew Room upstairs and it was comfortable and quiet. The room price included a light breakfast which was to be made in the room. It was actually just right after a heavier, richer dinner the night before. The B&B was only a few minutes... More

Anne and Julian Brandt have a nice bed and breakfast in a perfect location for exploring downtown Charleston, especially if there are more in your party than just one couple. They have two (we prefer the upper) two bedroom suites in what was the old kitchen building behind their historic Charleston home on Meeting Street, well south of Broad. There... More

I stayed at this B&B on New Years Day 2013. It is located in one of my favorite areas of downtown Charleston. Nice and quiet, yet close to all restaurants, bars, etc. Hosts couldn't be friendlier. Would definitely stay there again.

My mom, fiance and I traveled to Charleston for a 3 day / 2 night stay to plan our summer 2013 nuptials. I formerly lived in Charleston during college and thereafter and never had the opportunity to stay many places as a visitor to the city. We decided to try a B&B and fell upon 36 Meeting via internet searches... More

This is a moderately priced B&B in an excellent location. It is in the old part of Charleston, two blocks from the Battery. We stayed in suite #1, on the ground floor. Our suite had two rooms with doors with a short narrow hallway between them and a small bathroom (shower, no tub) off that hallway. The first room has... More

Anne is a wonderful friendly helpful owner of 36 Meeting St. The building is located so close to all of Charleston's historic downtown, the harbor and restaurants. We shared a bathroom with friends and each of us had a large bedroom. There was a fridge and micro in case you wanted to bring in food. The only thing I missed... More

As the name implies, a B&B is a bed and breakfast. Experiences in the past (many) have been in B&Bs with a lovely bedroom, in a pleasant location with a breakfast among fellow travelers in a common room or space. Unfortunately, 36 Meeting fails to achieve several of these aspects. Several rooms are for rent, we had the one up... More

We selected 36 Meeting Street based on its location and positive reviews. We had no idea that it would so greatly exceed our expectations! The accommodations were nice and comfortable. The daily breakfast of fruit, coffee, cereal, and muffins were quite nice. But what was the most lovely was the couple that ran the B&B. The Brandts are knowledgeable, friendly,... More
