Pleasantly surprised by improvements since last visit. We are owners at Grande Ocean but had not been back for 7 years. Last time we stayed there were huge mold spots on the mattresses (they had to actually switch out mattresses as it was that bad), mold on lamp shades, torn and wet carpets, broken appliances just to name a few... To start, checkin was a breeze with very friendly rep. No timeshare mention during the entire stay. Nice underground parking. The rooms were beautiful, large and clean. The Marriott Grand Ocean was a large resort, with a very good location because you could walk right out onto the beach. We had two villas, on the fifth floor of Laughing Gull. Great ocean views. Enjoyed the hot tubs, putting greens and the swings by the ocean. The weather was great for December. We used the sea pines pass to and enjoyed Harbour town. More

Simply our favorite place to go in Hilton Head is Marriott's Grande Ocean. Frankly it is just a cut above Surfwatch which we also enjoy very much but the two advantages Grande Ocean has are that it provides Sea Pines access and its villas have whirlpool tubs instead of the showers provided at Surfwatch.
