We wanted to try a few parks in Myrtle beach after doing almost 3 months of state parks all over the southern USA. we ended up in pirateland. The washrooms need upgrading and would be at the bottom of all the parks we used. When we arrived we had a nice quiet part of the southeast corner in site 84 this lasted... We started going here 4 years ago and love every minute of it! This year we rented a 3 bedroom trailer for 3 adults and 3 young children and we had plenty of space. It was so nice to be able to just pack up the strollers and walk to the beach. We really enjoyed spending some time in the... More

Camping isn't for me, but I've stayed at the Pirateland camp ground several times, friends and family and enjoyed each stay. For a campground they offer the most. With beach access, a lazy river, shaded areas. A store on site with a grill. Nice bath houses, and pool. Gated so no one that doesn't belong can come in. And that... More

We booked less then a week before on a holiday weekend and they were very helpful! It took a week that could have been horrible and made it wonderful. When looking at sites check out the ones on the waterway pay a bit more but they are much nicer then the standard site, More

I have been going to Pirateland for twenty years and love it! We would live there during the summers as a kid, it has soooo many memories for me. Anyway it is a shame of the changes that have taking place. I remember the way it was so to me I ignore the staff and there lack of training. Pirateland... More

Every year a group of seven families takes a week long camping vacation together. We have been to Sandusky, Pigeon Forge, Lake George (twice) & Connecticut and this was our first time to Myrtle Beach. The organizer for the group usually picks more expensive campgrounds that have a lot of activities for the kids in the group. Our first interaction... More

Pirateland is a campground, not a 5-Star resort! I have been staying at Pirateland for about 6 years now. I actually have a close friend who owns a house in Pirateland. I have teenage children and she has 3 children under the age of 11. And all of children have a great time. They spent their days at the arcade... More

Read a lot of the reviews, and found the bad reviews a little disconcerting since we had already booked several months ago. Once we got there, we discovered there are a lot of people with unreasonable expectations of a "campground". First impression was a good one, check in was really easy. We took a beachside site, found it easy to... More

I read the reviews before we went to Pirateland and I must say that I was worried about what I would find. After we got there I was shocked that the reviews were not all true! Everyone we met was nice and very helpful. The camp store was fully stocked with things that you would need and the prices were... More
