The title says it all. Not a lot of choices in De Smet, but this place was fine. Seemed pretty expensive to me--we were there during one of the "pageant weekends." But that's capitalism. Doesn't bother me, but I thought I'd mention it.

We stayed two night. The staff loves dogs and welcomes them. The indoor pool and spa are nice and clean. Continental breakfast was very nice...one of the best with a huge selection of healthy breads, and of course cereal and oatmeal, and lots of different Fig Newtons. We got the last available room during a local basketball tourney. We had a nice room with 2 queen beds that had lots of pillows (a big deal for me as I sleep with lots at home). We stayed here 2 nights in July while visited Laura sites. Got the last room for the weekend since their pageants were going on. Nice, clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff and very helpful. We had the Queen Deluxe room which sounded great on the internet, but was the smallest hotel room i've ever stayed in. Not good when there's 2 adults and 2 kids. When you have the pullout couch open you can't get the door to the room open all the way without hitting the bed. The bathroom (toilet & tub only)... More

we were there during the hottest part of July and were glad to escape the heat with air conditioning and a pool. The pool and hot tub were large. Room had a fridge and Wifi. There was a small breakfast in the morning - toast and bagels.

Spent 2 days there in mid-June 2011. The hotel is clean, close to Little house books related attractions, quiet and in general was very pleasant to stay at.
