We chose the Emerald Pines as our base for five pleasant days in the Black Hills last September and it turned out to be one of our very best B&B experiences. The location was convenient to what we wanted to see and do, the Finch Suite was spacious and Marilyn and Al were absolutely the best hosts we've ever encountered.... More

My husband and I and another couple spent four delightful days at this very special B&B. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and were sad when it was time to check out. The home is lovely; the location is perfect for sight seeing in the Black Hills; and the two suites are decorated very attractively and are spacious and... More

Our stay with Marilyn and Al was wonderful. We had traveled with another couple so rented both spacious suites. The breakfasts were extraordinary and both Marilyn and Al were very helpful in setting up our two day stay in the area as were had never been to South Dakota. The rooms were quaint and both had private, large sitting areas.... More

We stayed at the Emerald Pines for 4 nights during Bike Rally week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Marilyn and Al were terrific hosts, making all their guests feel right at home. Being just outside of Hill City, we were close to all the bike action but far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet at night. This location... More

We just returned from a wonderful 4-night stay with Marilyn and Al. The food is amazing each morning, and the accommodations are spacious and comfortable. This was a 3-generation girls' getaway trip to celebrate my mom's 87th birthday, and it was all we wanted it to be. It's a beautiful house in a beautiful setting with gracious, beautiful hosts. Their... More

Way back in the olden days Mr. Miagi - The Karati Kid/"Arnald" - Happy Days did an ad for Toyota, I think, saying it's not the destination, but the journey - well in this case the destination is at the very least as good as the journey. Your hosts, friends before you depart, are super-lative people! Beyond these words I... More

We stayed at this B & B in June, 2011 for 8 nights. Al & Marilyn are the greatest hosts & a wonderful couple - you feel like part of their family when you leave. Marilyn is an excellent cook! Her breakfasts offer a large variety & she makes everything from scratch (including doughnuts!). We stayed in the lower floor... More

We stayed at Marilyn and Al's B&B at the beginning of September and although we orginally only booked the two rooms detailed on the website, they were kind enough to open up a third guest room, which they do occasionally, so that we could meet up with family and spend some quality time together. The rooms were all great and... More

Al and Marilyn were great hosts and made us feel right at home in their home. The place is way back from the road in the middle of the woods on several acres Our suite was very comfortable and homey. The breakfasts each morning made my Marilyn were out of this world delicious.
