We stayed three nights July 2012. The Historic Town Hall is a great alternative to chain hotels. We prefer the cozy and local ambience of small town inns. Kelly was a most gracious host. We HIGHLY recommend the Inn. It is a short drive, 5-10 minutes to Deadwood, so you can enjoy all of the touristy trash and flash in... More

This was a sweet little Gem in the deadwood area, very affordable and really comfortable and quiet. There was some clanking pipes, but not that big of deal for us. Sost us about 7 dollar taxi ride to deadwood, which was perfect. We wont stay anywhere else in deadwood now that we have stayed here. This is the spot for... More

My husband and I stayed in this lovely hotel located in the historical town of lead SD. We are from rapid city SD so we were just looking for an over night get away. Another couple and us stayed on a Saturday night. Both rooms as well as the hotel itself was so charming! We all loved it and will... More

Before embarking on a 3 week motorcycle trip last August, found Historic Town Hall Inn during a web search of accommodations available in Lead or Deadwood , S.D. Booked 2 nights for a stay over as base for Black Hills sight seeing. What a great surprise, we loved it. Beautifully renovated building & our room was fantastic - lots of... More

This hotel was GREAT! I'd read all the other reviews before booking and they were spot on! Incredibly comfortable beds, very generously sized rooms, all the amenities that you hope for in a hotel, but with an historic flair. Kelly, the general manager, was an invaluable resource. He gave us great recommendations on how to maximize our time in the... More

I can echo all the great comments about the Town Hall Inn in Lead SD. The room was great and yes one of the most comfortable beds I have ever used at a hotel or B&B. The clerk was the son of the owners and was friendly and helpful for great tips to eat and visit. We were in the... More

I can't say enough about our stay at Historic Town Hall Inn. Kelly and his Dad were terrific HOST!!! We stayed in the Library (rm. 203), and it was spotless. If we needed anything ... a ride, had any questions or wanted somewhere good to eat at...they were very helpful. The next time we go to South Dakota...we will certainly... More

Writing this review from the most comfortable hotel bed ever (even better than the ritz and the four seasons). Lovely room, very clean and comfortable with lots of charm. Kelly is the owner, housekeeper, bellman and concierge. Also, about the cutest and nicest host ever. Lead is a nice change of pace, yet just down the road from the action... More

Refurbished town hall in Lead, SD (pron. "Leed"). As an example, our room had been the Auditor's Office, and had 18' ceilings and a vault (sorry, it won't open). The room had been well-appointed with private bath, full kitchen, supersoft king bed and a table with two chairs. The AC was a window unit, but served well this hot June... More

I highly recommend staying at the Historic Town Hall Inn. From the moment we entered the place we were awed by the hospitality of the staff and the character in this fully restored building. Each room was well decorated and the cleanest of any place we ever stayed. Each room is named for it's former purpose and is displayed above... More
