We were really looking forward to a romantic getaway, and were very excited about going to Tinakilly house for a night to get away from it all. Overall I feel a little let down. The hotel has such potential, but I have high expectations and it did not meet them. To begin with we got a rather frosty reception. The... More

Spent one night in Tinakilly. Having attended a wedding there in 2010 and stayed overnight I had an idea what to expect. Mostly enjoyed the experience but a few things spoilt it. Asked for a seaview room but was told none available even though the hotel did not seem to be terribly busy (there was a wedding on but it... More

Stayed in March 2011. Couldn't recommend enough. Once you find the entrance (overshot twice) you are welcomed by a long drive up to a picturesque Hotel surrounded by acres of beautiful gardens. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful, when we arrived we were too late for dinner but were offered sandwiches instead. All the members of staff... More

Just back from an overnight in Tinakilly house hotel. Great rooms (loved the robes post my bath!). Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Had early bird dinner in restaurant - very high quality food. Slow braised neck of lamb followed by hake with chirizo, yummy sticky toffee pudding washed down with bottle of sav blanc and coffee. Her indoors had... More

My boyfriend and i stayed here for one night in jan 2012 using a lastminute.com deal. we got a junior suite for 100 euro. We really enjoyed the stay - the bedroom was huge and the staff extremely helpful. The hotel itself has a bar and three seperate lounges which is lovely for relaxing. The restaurant was very busy and... More

It has it's unique charm, splendid garden view rooms, you can feel sea breeze when you open the window, very nice service, not much people around, cozy fireplace, fresh irish stout and all it takes to feel yourself lost in time and space with someone special. In the room we found a small brochure about the house history. Funny feeling... More

We stayed here in late November 2011 and the first thing we expected on arrival on friday evening was a warm fire but unfortunately we were to be disappointed as the fireplace was bare. We asked if it would be lit later and were assured that it would be. The room was fine, bed comfortable but we had upgraded to... More

I stayed here end of October. Had been looking forward to it but was dijsappointed and won't be going back. First negative was the 'sea view' suite. Maybe there was a sea view behind all the trees but I had expected to look out my window and actually see the sea. Next big negative was the restaurant - weird shaped... More

This is a lovely historic quiet country house with some rooms having tidal ocean view. Several lounge areas with fireplaces and a fantastic breakfast included. Service was great and everyone asked "Do you need anything?" Also a lift, too. Sign said fitness room but we didn't see it. Wicklow town is 12km, Powerscourt is 15min drive Avoca weavers and Wicklow... More
