I stayed here for the long weekend at the end of March with my girlfriend so this review is well overdue. From the moment we stepped in we were impressed by the friendly atmosphere and cosy nature of The Abbey House. Jonathan and Maureen were charming hosts and only too willing to help in any way possible. The breakfasts were... More

England countryside at its most authentic and beautiful. The Abbey House is elegant but yet great value for money. We paid 75GBP for bed and breakfast and it was the best ever. home made muesli and croissants and a full choice of cooked breakfasts. Wonderful afternoon teas on the lawn. Our room had a separate bathroom, private, not shared, but... More

Just a few days here left us feeling refreshed and rested. Run by people who genuinely enjoy welcoming guests and go the extra mile to make your stay a treat. Breakfast is a delight and, weather permitting can be taken outside. Specialities are fresh crab sandwiches and dorset apple cake with clotted cream. This was our third stay and we... More

Both of us stayed here at the start of March for 3 nights as we had been enchanted by the place when we found it the previous year. As soon as I walked into the reception area it felt very warm and supportive and we were not disappointed having booked. The atmosphere is key to the B&B. The building was... More

We often stay in hotels and B&Bs all over the country, however none have been quite as lovely as this guest house in the quaint little village of Abbotsbury. When we arrived we were greeted and shown to our room by a very friendly, welcoming man. Upon asking what time breakfast was he said "what time would you like" which... More

This was the most wonderful surprise on our family trip. The most beautiful village and Bed and Breakfast you could ever imagine. We had to drag one of our family away at the end of our stay. The staff and Jon and Maureen were more like friends to us. We were made most welcome. Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

I stayed here with my parents and two daughters in October 2012, we were on a three-day walking tour of the south coast of Dorset. They were serving dinner during the night of our stay, which was a treat. The owners are lovely and could not have been nicer!

We happened upon the Abbey House during a visit to Abbotsbury and are pleased to say that we hit the jackpot. Dinner was a relaxed experience in every way possible. The food and service were both exemplary but what really made this such a great event was the Cooke family, who own and run the Abbey House. Jon and Maureen,... More
