5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2013 NEW

We recently booked a table for a teenager’s significant birthday celebration. We were made to feel very welcome and that nothing was too much to trouble. They didn’t mind us putting our balloons out or a few table decorations and the food was faultless!! As a local, I’ve been here before for drinks and I am so pleased that finally... More

The Red Lion at the traffic lights in the centre of Wareham. Of the five pubs we went in during a stay nearby, this was the best and also busy and popular which speaks for itself. We ended up eating here on two occasions, and enjoyed both meals. The hotel has a big bar area and two separate dining areas,... More

I have been for dinner at the Red Lion and then a few months later went there for lunch to give it a second chance. For the dinner I had a mushroom pastry starter. The pastry was all soggy and very unpleasant to eat. For the lunch I had the halloumi and roasted veg sandwich. The bread was all soggy... More

We had a two day family reunioun over a sad occassion (the funeral of a dear aunt) The proffessional and yet familiar and very kind staff made the occassion and the whole stay very nice. I will definatly go back whenever possible. Comfortable, clean, and light rooms also added to the experiance. THANK YOU

We received a very warm Welcome from the landlady here and nothing was ever too much trouble. Food was superb, beautifully presented and the service could not be faulted. Myself and a colleague were on business locally and can't wait to return. Location is also superb within Wareham with much to see all within easy walking distance.

We only stayed one night, our room was lovely and big! One fairly big thing missing in the bathroom is a proper shower, there's only a hand held one over the bath which was perfect for me - I had a bath and could use the shower to do my hair whilst sat in the bath. However, like most men... More

Thank you for your comments. We do appreciate that some people do prefer showers and as previously mentionned in responses these will be tackled in phrase two of the refurbishments as there are no easy options! I am sorry if the hallway smelt. Our staff regularly use this hallway and didn't report anything either so apologies. i am please that... More

The room was very well equipped with lots of tea and coffee and complimentary water. Nice bathroom samples. Very clean and newly refurbished. The biggest problem was the heating in the room. The radiators went off a 8.00pm and did not come back on. We were freezing. When I brought this to the owners attention when we got home we... More

Our travel buyer certainly came up trumps with this. Myself and a colleague arrived late evening and was greeted with a warm welcome I asked for a quiet room and was given a room at the back away from the road. Three of us had an evening meal together when watching football which was excellent. Breakfast was also great. Parking... More

When I discovered that I would be working in the Wareham area for a period close to a year, I set out to find somewhere to stay that would be comfortable, and more importantly, friendly. From the very first time I set foot in the place, and Beth offered me a coffee, I knew that the Red Lion was going... More

Stayed for 2 nights on business, was sorry to leave. The staff are very welcoming , the food excellent and a good choice of beers. One word of warning if you stay in room 1 , as for a map at reception as the room is so large you may get lost!!
