Visited this pub to find it packed with locals, offering first rate real ales and good food. Staff were attentive despite the bar being full. Great to see locals supporting their pub. The pub is the hub!

Needing a long earned rest we stopped off at the "Linton". Room was very comfortable and warm. The bar was very welcoming and the locals very chatty, we did not want to go to bed. Food was class and service was second to none. Sharping pencils and hanging beer mats was the entertainment of the night. Going back again.

This was the second time I have stayed at the Linton and it was just as good as the first time. I requested a packed lunch instead of my breakfast and the food in the lunch was great. I was in the same room as last time and the bed is still very comfy and the in room facilities were... More

I purchased a B&B package for me and my husband from 5pm.co.uk as an anniversary night away so the value was excellent. We received a warm and friendly welcome and our little dog Dolly was made to feel very welcome. As promised a bottle of prosecco was waiting for us which we took out in to the lovely walled garden.... More

Firstly the staff are great and the food was nice, however the menu is quite limited and very very overpriced. The room was tiny, the decor was tried and very badly done. The bed was old and far too soft, the shower room was dirty and very dated. The toilet seat would not stay up and very uncomfortable to have... More

I am truly saddened by your comments in regards to your stay with us this weekend. Whilst I understand that the reason for your interest in us was purely one given via an Internet offer it has given us a great deal to consider, my wish is only that I had had the opportunity to discuss your criticisms in person... Lovely setting in gorgeous small village. Lovey garden and characterful bar. Meal was on whole good but not the best, service excellent and very good wine list. Room was bit tight space wise , but quirky. Really poor shower, barely any water! Plus very noisy plumbing that kept us awake. Overall great hotel for a one nighg stay

Many thanks for taking the time to send your review. As a small village inn it is a bit frustrating that some of our rooms are on the small side and hence the reason to make them all individual in style. You will see from various other reviews replies that we are in the process of upgrading and the showers... More

We'd eaten in Haldanes when they were located in Edinburgh & enjoyed it so when we saw a deal through 5pm we decided to treat ourselves to a meal & overnight stay. Everything was lovely! Do not agree with previous review about the decor - it is very stylish & tasteful. Dinner & breakfast was excellent! Perhaps a DBB option... More

Many thanks for taking the time to send your review. Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Room 1 has just be refurbished and is how we hope all rooms will be in time. I'm glad you enjoyed dinner and yes I will think about offering a DBB rate from next year on. Kind... More

Many thanks for your very kind comments - perhaps not many weddings to attend in this area but you know where we are for a wee break. Kind regards, Michelle More
