We decided to stay here due to previous TA reviews and I have to say we weren't disappointed! Lovely building, beautifully decorated with a really nice atmosphere. My room was clean, spacious, comfy... with en suite shower room, very powerful good quality shower... bathroom looked like it had recently been fitted. Tea and coffee making facilities provided and refreshed daily.... More

Initially we chose Oaklands because it was close to Glasgow and Edinburgh and we were delighted with our choice. An easy train trip to both cities mean't an effortless visit. BUT the absolute bonus was what was just around the corner in Laurieston. Just a quick walk and we found ourselves in Calendar Park - stunning home and grounds and... More

What a great base. This wonderful Bed & Breakfast was a fantastic place to stay. You felt like you were staying with friends. Our room was clean and self contained with an en-suite toilet and shower. There were towels provided as well as a hair drier. There was a TV and fairtrade tea and coffee making facilities. We had our... More

Andrew and Helen treat you like family when they welcome you into their home. And what a home! An Edwardian villa that provides comfortable, spacious rooms and is tastefully decorated throughout. The shower room was quite small but was well equipped and yes, you can hear the plumbing but its only a minor disturbance. The guest's lounge looked lovely, though... More

My husband and I stayed at this guest house as part of our honeymoon in Scotland. We chose the location due to it's proximity to the Falkirk Wheel. The house itself is tucked behind a privacy wall on a semi-busy street, but there is parking, albeit slightly tight. Look carefully or you might miss the drive. The location, at least... More

We stayed at Oaklands B & B for one night on the way up to St Andrews as we wanted to visit the Falkirk Wheel. We found Oaklands a very stylish, comfortable home from home. The Blue themed en suite bedroom was perfect for our needs, and guests have use of a big cosy lounge filled with very interesting arty... More

We only had one quick night at Oaklands, but found it very nicely furnished with a super host who did everything necessary for us to be comfortable. The rooms were medium-large, the bath quite usable, the views into the garden nice. The house is wonderfully decorated with photos (many taken by the host) and has a very nice sitting room... More

We stayed at Oaklands for 3 nights and it was very comfortable, the house is beautiful with antique furniture and large rooms, our bedroom was at the back of the house and very spacious, the ensuite was small but it did the trick. There was a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The bed was very comfortable. Andrew and Helen were... More

The whole experience oozed quality. A solid sandstone double fronted villa with tasteful decor and quality furnishings and fittings. Immaculate throughout. Very friendly welcome. My 8 year old son and I had a fresh, bright twin room with spacious en-suite facilities. Breakfast was served around a large oval rich wooden table. There was the usual range of cereals and grapefruit... More
