My wife and i stayed at the hotel in september for 3 nights and we were very pleased with the hospitality from Ann and the waitress i believe called agnieszka from poland. The room was clean and a very good size and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the Isle of Arran. there are plenty walks to do... More

Our fourth night on the Arran coastal path walk. This hotel is a little expensive for what you get. The good points for us were - Breakfast in the conservatory, good sized room and en-suite. Not so good - no evening meal, decor just starting to look tired, noisy garage across the road. Overall assesment - OK but expensive for... More

Very friendly welcome, bar is open ocasionally. Excellent breakfast, especially Ann´s homemade marmalade is outstanding. Also the lodge with the open fireplace - we had to use it in July! - was very cosy. It is a pity that the restaurant is closed in the evening, but on Fridays chicken wings are served in the bar and the conservatory. Nearby... More

Ann the landlady met us and made us very welcome. My room was lovely and huge for a single traveller, the en suite to was huge. A good comfy nights sleep. Breakfast was good, but could have done with more tea and toast without asking the waitress ,( when i did manage to catche her eye ) Disappointing that the... More

The owners of this historic lodge are really lovely - very friendly and welcoming. My room had a lovely double bed which was much appreciated by a single traveller who has been walking all day. The bar and wood fire are cosy and the breakfasts delicious. Blackwaterfoot is a charming place with a lovely atmosphere, a tiny harbour and a... More

We have just stayed for a couple of nights with Ian in Blackwaterfoot Lodge. He was very friendly and gave us a lovely breakfast. We also enjoyed our evenings in the bar. The house itself is in need of some tlc. It looks as though all the rooms need updating and the carpets needs a good clean. It was a great... More

While this may be the best hotel in Blackwaterfoot, that isn't saying very much. It did provide a nice close location for Shiskine Golf, and the room, though tiny, was nicely furnished with a comfortable bed. Carpeting needed a good cleaning. Breakfast was fine. For the price, though, in comparison to B & B values, our expectations were much higher.... More

My friend and I were cycling around Arran when we got caught in a blustery downpour - drenching us to the bone and washing away our love of cycling! Then out of the grey haze came Blackwaterfoot Lodge! Warm and inviting with grand armchairs, crickety corridors and plenty of island charm. The owner, a physisit by trade was friendly and... More

Hotel was highly rated but disssapointing. The room was spacious but the bathroom was tiny and in need of reapair. The toilet papaer holder was falling off the wall. the toilet tank cover was broken and rusted. There was no shampoo. The sink was in the bedroom but had no place to hang a towel. We left after one night.

All these guests had to do was tell us about the toilet paper holder, which was OK a week ago, and ask for shampoo or anything else they needed. Not true about lack of hanging space for a towel. We waived our cancellation policy on the understanding that hurricane Irene had flooded guest's home, which was the reason they gave... More
