Having stayed at the Cross keys on numerous occasions, I have yet to be disappointed. The rooms are warm, clean and comfortable. Situated in the relaxing village of Kippen, it allows you great access to the beautiful surrounding countryside. The pub itself is warm and inviting, with an open fire and satisfying selection of wines, spirits and beers. This is... More

Stayed here for one night, tasty food, warm welcome for everyone including my dog! Rooms clean with everything you need in them, breakfast good and log fires warm and toasty. Good atmosphere in the pub too.

Log fires and a warm welcome in this traditional, unpretentious old inn with superb (mostly locally sourced) food and a fine local bitter brewed specially for the pub. The accommodation, (newly refurbished?), was attractive and spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed though the room was not spacious enough for a wardrobe. A cosy and comforting place to stay in... More

Rooms basic but comfy bed. Rustic and charming but not spotlessly clean and fab facilities therefore if you are looking for this then don't stay here. Price for the room fairly toppy but not a lot of choice in the area. Breakfast main issue for us as (there are only three rooms in the hotel) you can hear yourself chew!!... More

Dear Yorkiegal, Thank you for taking the time to review The Cross Keys. I hope that the tone of the review was to give constructive critism, sorry I did not understand some of the points made. "you can hear yourself chew...?..?.. "charming but not spotlessly clean and fab facilities...?...? I couldn't deduce whether you actually got a tomato, but if... More

When ever I visit this area I always stay at the Cross Keys. A friendly welcome and great food are always waiting for me. The rooms are fairly basic but comfortable although it would be nice to have a wardrobe to hang my clothes rather than use the back of the door. The bathroom has underfloor heating which is very... Our family dining experience, complete with our wee border terrier, left our tongues wagging with praise. Great hospitality, wonderful food and a warm, friendly atmosphere. Our sprightly mutt nestled obediently under the table knowing her place. As the proprietor rightly pointed out, it's a pub that takes dogs NOT dog pub. Dogs don't sup ale and busy the tills!

We regularly stay at hotels and pubs throughout the UK and Europe with our two police trained German Shepherds. During the booking process we adviced the lady on the phone that we had two well behaved German Shepherds , we were told this was no problem and we were given the choice of a larger room for us to stay... Dear Abraham d, There are always two sides to every story and this is ours. I was dismayed that you have chosen to be so one sided and clearly untruthful with your account of your experience here at The Cross Keys. It was indeed me, the owner, who checked you in quite affably on Sunday evening. As you had left... More

Awesome place with amazing staff and equally amazing food, stayed here for a few days and really have no complaints at all, good food, good staff, good rooms and good beer. I left my wellies there though so if you go and stay there and your size 11 ask them for the wellies Ric left and they are yours. I... More

As soon as you wallk in this pub it has such a good ambience that you wish to stay all night. We visited this pub for our daughters birthday and had a superb meal. Lovely traditional 18th century pub with a roaring log fire and cosy atmosphere. The owners and staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is great!!
