We arrived for a last minute break as the weather looked good for Skye. We chose the hotel randomly and got lucky! Gorgeous room, rm 20, beautiful views from room, 5 minute walk into town, lovely dinner from a small menu, and amazing nights sleep. We were right above a very busy restaurant and couldn't hear a thing in our... More

Our stay here was only for a coupld of days and we were more than happy with our accomodation. Our view from our room was second to none. In travelling for 3 months across asia and europe i don't think we had a better view out our window. Loved it! The room was large but a little dated. That didnt... More

We were the only residents at the Marmalade and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is modern and clean. Because we were the only guests breakfast time was flexible. Honest and good value offering. Free wifi was much appreciated and the hotel is well located for a quick walk to the pubs in Portree. More

Very friendly, helpful and flexible staff. Bar and restaurant very cosy, and a great breakfast in the morning which was served before the official start of breakfast time. Free wifi. Very comfy bed and good nick-nacks in room including local soaps and a dvd player. Pretty good value too. The one issue was a lack of hot water for the... More

Visited Marmalade last week - best meal we had on Skye! The menu is varied without being pretentious, the food is excellent, the portion sizes are unreal! Service was attentive and friendly, will definately return!!!. More

Rather a strange reception area for this hotel, as you just go in and go to the bar. However, staff are friendly and helpful, and they gave us the family room on the first floor, which is so huge that the beds look like toys - loads of room to spread yourself! Enormous bathroom with effective shower, which is not... More

This hotel is a little removed from the center of Portree uphill, which makes it nice and quiet and affords great views into town and of the water. The staff couldn't find my reserved room key when I checked in (check in is at the bar inside the door, no desk), but they quickly found me another, much upgraded huge... More

We stayed here for one night in August. I would describe Marmalde as a restaurant/cafe with rooms. It's a 5 minute walk out of town and in a quiet area. It has a lovely garden. We stayed in a room up 2 flights of stairs with a beautiful view of the bay. The bedroom was fairly comfortable but not luxurious... More

Portree was very busy with tourists and we struggled for weeks to get a room, Visit Scotland managed to get us into Marmalade. Having read the reviews, I was expecting perhaps a mixed feeling about the place. But for three nights we stayed there and also ate there every night, the food being very good and much better than you... More

We were pleased with our stay at Marmalade. The location was good, just a short walk in to town. We had dinner the first night which was very good and the freshly cooked breakfast was also nice. It is more of a hotel-feel than a guest house so the welcome is not the friendly style of a typical B&B but... More
