Stayed here one night end of January so not a lot of choice of places open. There was one other guest (on business). The smell of old greasy food was almost overpowering on entering the hotel. Our room overlooking the harbour was large with a double and one single bed but rather a lot of furniture. The decor was very... More

We stayed in the Kinlochberivie hotel in August for our first anniversary as we wanted to go somewhere secluded. We arrived and the young man behind reception did not even so much as crack a smile and was very unfriendly. The hotel smelled so bad it was catching on the back of our throats! Dinner at the hotel was terrible,... More

We have just returned from a visit to the restaurant which we were hoping was good as we are staying just around the corner. The signs on the road said food available all day, we arrived at 5pm and all that was available was sandwiches and cookies so we decided to stay until the restaurant opened at 6pm. The young... More

Apparently quite a fine hotel in its heyday...now a little tired and old-fashioned. Decent room with good views but four-poster bed on the small side and not worth the extra ££. The shower was a trickle of either cold or burning hot water. The heating kept breaking down, so nowhere to dry our sodden clothes. Very average food in the... More

I have stayed at this hotel twice - 2010 and 2011. In August of 2011 family members were with me, including a disabled teen. The staff, lead by Leona Bell, were very good, very helpful. Breakfast was good. The rooms were clean, spacious, good tub and shower. Good wi-fi. Views from the lounge area and dining area are superb. I... More

We were greeted courteously, and directed to our room, which was very comfortable, and much larger than is customary. Our breakfasts were extremely good. The hotel is very dog-friendly, and we had a most relaxing stay. It was inexpensive, and very good value. We ate our evening meals just along the road, at the old Schoolhouse. More

Revisiting an old holiday haunt from my childhood, we spent a night with my parents at the kinlochbervie hotel. My parents memories were of a rather splendid lounge and dining room, however today it is rather tired and underwhelming. On arrival we received a rather cold reception, adequate but certainly not warm and no real friendly chat. Our rooms had... More

We stayed for 4 nights and wanted to stay longer. We were made to feel very welcome and food and drink were of great value (particularly the deep fried chicken). The furnishings are probably a little dated but perfectly adequate and homely. Location has to be one of the best in Europe. Can not wait to go back. More

Great location but spoilt on arrival by finding our first allocated room had not been serviced & No Hot water! Decor tired, water pressure low & shower not up to modern standard. Evening meal was good but service slow. More

We have written to this guest and to VisitScotland regarding his stay. Firstly it is nonsense to say there was no hot water. A pump that supplies four bedrooms had failed and had been repaired prior to their arrival. Hot water was available all through the rest of the hotel and would have been available in this room in about... More

We never stayed at this hotel but went for a meal. Myself partner and kids. We ate off the lunchtime menu and the prices were very good. The service was ok, the food was a bit slow to come, we had to ask for condiments as none were offered. There was music playing in the bar area where we ate... More
