Apparently quite a fine hotel in its heyday...now a little tired and old-fashioned. Decent room with good views but four-poster bed on the small side and not worth the extra ££. We were greeted courteously, and directed to our room, which was very comfortable, and much larger than is customary. Our breakfasts were extremely good. The hotel is very dog-friendly, and we had a most relaxing stay. It was inexpensive, and very good value. We ate our evening meals just along the road, at the old Schoolhouse. More

We stayed for 4 nights and wanted to stay longer. We were made to feel very welcome and food and drink were of great value (particularly the deep fried chicken). The furnishings are probably a little dated but perfectly adequate and homely. Location has to be one of the best in Europe. Can not wait to go back. More
