Went down to Balloch for a pre-Christmas break and having previously stayed at the Gowanlea we booked it again without hesitation. We were provided with Coffee and biscuits on our arrival and showed to our room which was spacious and had everything required for a comfortable stay. The breakfasts were once again first class with a varied choice to suit... More

I stayed there one cold night in November and it was a great experience. The lady who owns the house was super friendly and she offered us Hot tea and coffee upon our arrival. The rooms were extremely clean and the breakfast amazing with lots of scottish options. I really loved it there. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone going... More

The room was clean, attractive and comfortable with everything you could possibly want. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We can confidently recommend this great... More

Hosts made us feel extremely welcome and although they got our booking dates wrong they more than compensated with their friendly personal service and couldn't do enough to compensate for the mistake. Room wasn't the room we wanted because of the mistake but was still a lovely clean... More

Andrea and John are amazing! My mother and I stayed for 2 nights, and from the moments we arrived, they made us feel so welcome. They helped carry our bags, gave us tourist information, and helped us settle in. You won't find a better breakfast in any of the bigger hotels or restaurants in Scotland: John is also a professional... More
