Myself and a friend camped here for our first night walking the West Highland Way. The location was definitely interesting - right in the heart of farm land and next door to a horse paddock. This didn't bother us, however some people might not appreciate the smell or the noise of the cows during the night! If anyone has a... More

What a rotten way to start the West Highland Way adventure. Yes there is a couple of reasonable areas for a tent, but that is the last use of the word reasonable. On my recent visit, the one toilet in the Gents area was locked shut, of the two 'mixed' toilets one had no lock (how difficult is it to... More

Tipped up here by 2pm. No one around so retrieved my camping gear which had been transported to the location by Travel Lite (highly recommended) Small camping area and as was first on site had good choice of where to pitch. Ground a bit rough and sloping so decent bed roll is a must. Facilitys were basic and nesting swallows... More

This camp was our first stop on the WHW. We expected better space and facilities. At a cost of £ 10 (2 people and a tent) can get better accommodation, of course. Nevertheless, we got the basic service quality resonable for backpackers - Shelter for cooking, toilet and shower with hot water. Nothing more, nothing less. Places for tents are... More

first of all it took us ages to find, the postcode takes you to the village of drymen but the site isnt in drymen. The woman mentioned before was horrible she answered the door in her bath robe and was not welcoming at all . i had prebooked one of the camping pods after visiting their website as they looked... We stayed at this campsite on the first night of our West Highland Way trip, and I really don't know where all the bad reviews are coming from! The facilities at the campsite were basic but adequate - what does anyone expect for £5 a night? Gavin who runs the campsite was charming, and the man & woman that run... More

The woman who runs this site is the most awful person you could ever come across - customer service is non-existent and you really have to wonder why she bothers. It is so sad that this is the first stop for WHW walkers as one encounter with this woman would make you want to just turn back and give up.... More

Facilities are basic but undercover so can't complain - the main thing is there are showers. Beware though, the camping ground is rough and on a slope. And it's a bit of a trek into Drymen.

While doing the West Highland Way I stopped here for the night, you have little choice as the next campsite is 10-15 miles on. The woman mentioned in the other reviews was to be honest unbelievable in her attitude, hostile, condescending and quite simply rude. The campsite is much further from Drymen than advertised and the facilities are filthy, I... More
