You obviously don't stay at a place like the Peabody for just a night's sleep. You stay for the experience. As with any classic old property (like The Plaza or the Hotel del Coronado), the rooms can vary in size and the bathrooms can be quite small. That being said, they are wonderfully appointed.

The Peabody is a one off.
The grand lobby with fountains and bar is enough reason to stay.See my photo.
You are reminded constantly of being in another era of southern elegance.
I was surprised to read some of the negative comments here.
If you want a modern hotel with ultra modern fittings go elsewhere.

Beautiful rooms, clean and good quality. Their fitness center is very elegant, get your breakfast in the hotel, delicious. Second floor has a little bit of history to enjoy. Overall experience - really nice hotel with lots of amenities.

The lobby of this hotel was spectacular, with a grand floral arrangement , exquisite wood grain furnishings and glorious paino serenading you as you enjoy a drink at the bar, have tea and desserts in the lobby bistro or are just walking through the lobby. The hotel is grand and expansive with multiple stores where one can browse or buy...

I love hotels that are not cookie-cutter versions of hotels in other cities and instead express their uniqueness. The Peabody is a beautiful hotel that exemplifies the best of Southern charm and grace in inn keeping. My room was large, well-appointed and clean. The staff couldn't have been more attentive and polite. I will definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the Peabody to attend a conference, but I took my mother and 10 year old daughter. The lobby is gorgeous with stained glass ceilings, dark wood, plush furnishings and beautiful flower arrangements. There is a piano that plays beautiful music all the time. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Upon arrival, we upgraded to a room that...

You have to stay at The Peabody once. March of the ducks, great bar, terrific restaurants, friendly staff. Near everything. You owe it to yourself to visit the National Civil Rights Museum. This was a great hotel.
