Incredible setting and view. A little intimidating at first being in the jungle, but the experience and people made us feel safe and comfortable. Find your Zen practicing Yoga on a clean surface with waves lapping as you overlook palms to the ocean. Hiking the jungle, searching for avocados, private beaches whale watching was a true outdoor experience ! Kayaking... More

Empty, white sand beaches; jungle hikes; beautiful lodging; and a small town with cobblestone streets just a short drive away. Tailwinds couldn't be based in a better location and Tamara couldn't be a kinder, more excellent host. Perhaps the most amazing part of the place is that it's so easy to get to. We flew into Puerto Vallarta from San... More

Tailwinds was above and beyond our expectations. The property was as lush as it gets and the accommodations were very well done and relaxing. The private beach was one of the highlights of our trip and we only wish we had more time at the lodge. The owners of the lodge are very knowledgeable about the area and had plenty... More

We had an unforgettable and wonderful four days and nights at Tailwinds! It was an oasis away from noisy crowds and tourists, close to nature and to the beach! We had breakfast under the palm trees, hiked the nearby jungle to solitary beaches, napped in hammocks, had candlelight dinners and slept (comfortably) in the large and lovely palapas. The owners... My husband, 5 yr-old daughter and I just returned from 10 amazing days at Tailwinds. It was the perfect eco-friendly getaway to unplug from our busy lives and reconnect with nature. We stayed in Casa Pumita which we loved -- amazing views from the 3 decks and very spacious. Sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee or a... More

Let me tell you something, this is the best place I have ever visited in Mexico. If you looking to get away from the busy city of Puerto Vallerta you found it. Tailwind has a secluded beach, jungle hikes, and is only a few minutes from San Pancho. Casita Pumita had everything a gringo would want in addition to the... More

Our palapas were a little like luxury camping: always outdoors, but perfectly sheltered. Not hard to find (excellent directions), a ten minute drive on a challenging dirt road and one discovers an oasis away from discos, all-inclusives and seedy resorts. The place was comfortable and had everything we needed. We cooked sometimes, explored local food in San Pancho and other... More

This place is far removed from most commercial establishments, you will find peace, quiet, and opportunities to meditate, swim, hike and find the privacy you are looking for. There is great respect for preserving the environment here, with water conservation, recycling and maintaining the natural environment. I slept well and ate well thanks to a local chef brought in to... More

Our family of 5 (kids 20, 17, 13) has recently returned from a wonderful week in the Jungle of Mexico! As soon as we arrived we felt like we were living like Swiss Family Robinson in the Jungle (but with all of the modern conveniences!) The palapas where we stayed felt like home immediately. If possible they were even more... More

Lucky me, I was able to go on a yoga retreat, and my hosts chose an eco-lodge family run business that is committed to holistic sustainablility in an old growth jungle north of Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. In my opinion and to quote the friendly, dependable, wise, onwers the Jacobi family of Tailwinds Jungle Lodge, this is "Paradise Found" and an... More
